Dwarf Tomatoes
Dwarf Tomatoes are much fun to grow. What’s more, they are relatively easier to maintain and well suited for container growing. On our website you will find many of hardy and tasty varieties. Some of our favorites are Dwarf Brandy Fred, Dwarf Russian Swirl, Dwarf Firebird Sweet, Dwarf Beauty King and Dwarf Emerald Green Giant. Truly, they are all good.
Some people have asked if dwarf tomato varieties can produce prolific crops. The answer is yes! More than 80 percent of the varieties that we carry are prolific. Most are also under four feet tall. There are also determinate and indeterminate varieties, potato and regular leaf.

Are you are looking for a dwarf variety that has look appeal and great taste? Adelaide Festival would work well. Sweet and smoky fruits will blow you away with their richness and balance! These beautiful, bi-color fruits grow on 3 foot plants. Fruits begin to ripen about 80 days after transplant. Adelaide Festival Dwarf tomato is rich and juicy with good sweetness. I have had lots of success growing these in containers too! Heavily laden plants would need some help standing upright. Tomato cages work excellently in ground or in containers. Al Kuffa Dwarf tomato is a mild fruit with plenty of good tomato taste. If you like red tomatoes but want less intensity this is a good choice. Its plants are short (perhaps 2.5 to 3 feet tall), and are always loaded with golf ball sized fruits. You can expect your first ripened fruits about 75 days after transplant. Stake these well. -
75 Days. Auria Dwarf tomato plant is a short tree type plant with rugose, regular leaves. 2.5 feet tall plants produce a big crop of 2-3 inch long, elongated fruits, that are bright red when ripened. Tomatoes are firm, dry and sweet with few seeds. Auria is perfect for sauces. In fact I have made some of the best spaghetti sauce with these. Perfect for 4-5 gallon containers. -
Banskia Queen Dwarf tomato is a pretty yellow fruit that bears on vines that are about 3 feet tall. Even though it's a dwarf variety, it definitely has to be staked because its tomatoes are large and its production is good. Plants have rugose leaves and none of ours have ever showed signs of diseases. Our biggest fruits have been around 10 ounces and smallest around 4. When it comes to taste, it is milder, a bit tangy, with sweet undertones. It is a great salsa, sandwich, and cooking tomato, and if you have any left over, take them to the market--they'll do well. One quick note, for the last three years, we have sold literally thousands of dwarf tomato plants at our farmers market. -
75 Days. Barossa Fest dwarf tomato is a very prolific variety that I totally enjoy growing for the first time in 2017. Our rugose leafed plants produced lots of pretty, pale yellow tomatoes that were 3-6 ounces. Fruits were milder and had a bit of a tart after-taste. Some of our taller vines grew to about 4 feet tall, but most were shorter. These produced all the way until frost. These are perfect for salsa, eating off the vine, drying and cooking. -
One of the prettiest green varieties that we grow, Big Green Dwarf tomato is the perfect variety for anyone wanting to grow in smaller spaces or containers. Rugose leaf plants are good with avoiding diseases, and can reach 4 feet tall. and produce big crops of 6-16 ounce light olive tomatoes. When sliced, beautiful yellowish colors reveal themselves. Big Green Dwarf plants begin to ripen their fruits about 75-80 days after transplant. Tomatoes are Juicy, has a tart after-taste and rich. Great for sandwiches and salsas! -
Blanche de Prusse Dwarf tomato is a flavorful, slicing variety that grows on short, 2.5 feet tall vines. Plants have rugose leaves. They produce plenty, pale yellow fruits that grow in clusters of 4-6. Our first fruits started ripening around the 73 day mark and continued until season's end. I really love the taste of these, especially in fresh salsa and as snackers. They have a nice amount of fruity juice. Texture is also there! These are perfect for biting onto, especially on a hot garden's day. Try dehydrating some! Grow these in 5 gallon containers and you will be rewarded with tasty, yellow gems! -
Boronia Dwarf tomato is a short growing, tree type variety. It produces chocolate colored fruits that remind me of Cherokee Purple in taste. It's texture is different from Cherokee thought, but there are some similarities. Boronia's plants are short, perhaps 3 feet tall when planted in full sunlight, and produce a nice amount of very tasty fruits. In our garden, fruits take about 75 days to ripen and are constantly ripening after that, so don't take your eyes off of them. Our plants have always displayed good resistance to diseases, but they may need a little help. Spray with copper sulfate or Serenade fungicide, those have always worked well for us. This is a variety that is determined to produce and will work hard to provide you with a good dinner of sandwiches, salsa, or sauces. Try them, you'll like them! -
BrandyFred Dwarf Tomato

Tree type plants grow to about 4 feet tall and produce big crops of 10-16 ounce fruits that ripen about 80 days after transplant. This variety is proof that large sized fruits do grow on dwarf plants. Stake well! One taste and you will experience the richness of a true old fashioned tomato. It's on the sweet side and well balanced. This is a perfect sandwich tomato. BrandyFred tomato would also do well in containers. Try them 3 gallons or larger! Each year when I grow dwarf tomatoes, I look for varieties that are good producers of nice sized fruits. Bubble Gum Dwarf tomato is one of them. One of the prettiest pink tomatoes that you would find, Bubble Gum is not a fancy type. It's just a simple, clean pink slicer with great flavor. Indeterminate plants are "tree type" and produce all season long through frost. This is also a great variety for container growing. I suggest 4 gallon or larger containers. Our plants began to ripen their fruits around the 72 days after transplant. 4-8 ounce fruits have very good balance. They are sweeter but not overly so. There is also a slight tinge of acidity. Bundaberg Rumball tomato is a beautiful little dwarf cherry that shouldn't be overlooked. I haven't heard much hype about it but I'm here to say, there should be! Short 3 foot plants produce plenty of greenish-brown tomatoes that are perfect for many applications. The one that first comes to my mind is salsa. They can also be as snacks and fresh eating right off the plant, canned when greener or almost ripened, and used for cooking. About 3 ft tall vines will produce early and a really good amount for the size of the plant. They will need some staking. If you're growing in containers, plant deep and feed in a timely manner. -
Burpees Matchless is a beautiful, clean tomato. Vines produce tons of 5-6 ounce, slicing tomatoes that can be used for a main crop. Fruits have a good old time tomato flavor with a little zing. Fruits begin to ripen about 75 days after transplant. perfect slicer, for sauces, fresh salsa and drying. Stake early and well!! -
Cherokee Red Tiger is a dwarf variety. Its plants are about 3 feet tall and foliage is bright lime colored. These are very tasty fruits with lots of juice. Ours were on the sweet side and had a slight bit of fruitiness. Pants were not too productive. It was totally worth growing this variety because of its taste and uniqueness of plants. This is a great container variety! As a plant vendor, you would do good with these! -
70 Days. This champion deserves its name. Dwarf Chocolate Champion tomato is a shorter variety, perhaps 3 feet, and produce nice sized, chocolate colored fruits that can weigh 3-6 ounces. Fruits are oblate and reddish with chocolate shoulders. They are nicely balanced and very desirable! our vines have no issues with diseases. Great container variety! See It on YouTube. -
One of the first dwarfs that I ever grew in containers, I enjoyed growing and eating Coastal Pride Orange so much that I literally recommended them to everyone. A big attractor for me was the 3 to 4 ft vine, beautiful rugose leaf foliage, and very pretty deep orange ripened fruits. Vines are not excessively prolific but they aren't slouches either. They produce a good amount of fruits that ripen in about 80 days. In some ways, Costal Pride Orange reminds me of Dad's Sunset or even Amish Gold Slicer, just on a shorter vine. Tomatoes are sweetish, meaty, medium-mild, and delicious. There is also a nice aroma to them when they are fully ripened. Containers or in-the-ground planting both work excellently. Some staking would be helpful. -
If you are love growing fun and tasty varieties, Curly Kaley tomato would definitely be one to try. This variety is perfect for containers or patio growing. Plants are about 15-20 inches tall. Very unique plants look like they have the stick gene with very thick, firm trunks and narrow width. They produce plenty, slightly elongated, red cherry tomatoes. These are very tasty and firm to the touch. This can be placed in the micro-dwarf or dwarf categories. Fruits are fleshy treats, have a low seed count, and they are sweet and tangy. Perfect salad and snacking tomato. Plants have a indeterminate habit and continue producing all season long. Best grown in a 1-2 gallon container. -
70 Days. Czech's Bush tomato is a rugose, regular leaf, dwarf variety, that is loaded with ping pong ball sized cherry tomatoes. Foliage loaded plants are no taller than 2.5 feet and are early to ripen fruits. Tomatoes are milder and have a rich tomato flavor. These are great for salads and fresh eating. Also good for slicing and drying. Great for containers too! -
Dark Stripe Micro Tomato

Introducing.. Dark Stripe Micro tomato! It's the only true dwarf multi-flora that I know of. There are several dwarf varieties that claim to be multiflora but don't quite produce abundantly, or have the habit. Seeds for these were shared with me several years ago, unstable and at F3. I have worked on it, selecting mostly for its multiflora qualities, plant size and taste. It's now very stable! Not only that, this tomato is a beautifully bi-colored variety. Although it's called a micro, it has the habit of a true dwarf. Rugose leafed, tree-like plants, can reach 2 feet tall in-the-ground, and up to 1.5 in 2-3 gallon pots. Also, this is an indeterminate variety! These plants produce many bunches of 40-60 fruits all on a very short plant, all season long. These do not produce many seeds. Many of my plants have produced over 250 tomatoes. I also like that it's not too seedy! We will be offering our seeds a little above our average prices due to low seed count and it's rarity.. At this time (2020-2021) we are the only vendor in the world to offer these! Taste is awesome, rich, sweet and balanced. You would love this tomato! Great for containers or in the ground! I grew Delta Dwarf tomato for the first time in 2018 and it took me by surprise. For one thing, my plants did not look anything like I thought they would. They were very vibrant and sprawling. They never crossed 4 feet tall, but were very bushy! When they started ripening and I started snacking, I had another surprise. Bi-colored fruits were very tasty, with great balance and perfect for snacking. Their interiors, when fully ripened, were marbled and very aromatic. Plants kept producing all season long. They were about the last to show any signs of fading in our garden. Delta Dwarf is certainly one that I will grow each year. These are perfect for snacking, delicious fresh salsa, dehydrating, cooking, garnishing and more. Try them! -
In 2018 we grew Demidov Dwarf tomato for the first time, and were pleased with it's growing habit and taste. Personally, I wasn't sure if it had a special purpose, or if it was just a general purpose tomato. So I put it to the test. As it turns out, it worked well for sauces and sandwiches. Also, it was a very good snacking tomato. Demidov is a blunt heart that has a sweetish taste but veers towards the mild side. Ours cooked down into some really thick, flavorful sauce, without any additions. When it was seasoned, WOW! Short plants are like trees. Production is good. Grow these in containers too! -
One of the most prolific dwarf varieties that I have grown, Dwarf Amy's Ohio is a winner. 3 feet tall plants produce beautiful green when ripened fruits, some of which have pinkish blossom ends. When sliced, you will find a pretty and inviting lime green. These are perfect little slicers with sweet and complex flavors. Fruits up to 6 ounces. Perfect for container gardening or raised beds. -
One of the most prolific and delicious tomatoes that we grew in 2018, Dwarf Andy's Forty tomato belongs in every tomato garden. Plants are about 3 feet tall and just keep pumping them out all season long. I also found that these were very disease resistant. Ours didn't not get early or late blight. Bi-color fruits are about 4-8 ounces. They bear in bunches of about 4-5 and begin to ripen about 75 days after transplant. Andy's Forty tomato is flavorful, mild and rich. It has very good texture and nice aroma when fully ripened. Overall a delicious tomato! A nice selection for garnish, cooking, snacking and so much more. Dwarf Artic Rose tomato is a perfect container variety. Its plants product plenty of tomatoes that seem happy together in bunches of 5 to 7. One of my observations of Arctic Rose is that it holds a lot of its blooms and set a lot of fruits. Although a few fruits may fall off the vine, this doesn't disqualify it from being a big producer. When fully ripened, fruits are tangy and juicy, with a sweetish undertone. Some staking support is necessary. You can expect fruits to ripen at about a 70 day mark and continue for quite awhile. This is a determinant variety, so they will be coming on fast and furious. Another good variety for containers or in the ground. I would try drying some because of the recognizable tang. Salsa would also shine when you use these. -
Dwarf Aussie Drop Tomato
Dwarf Aussie Drop tomato is a heart shaped fruit that grows on rugose, regular leafed plants. Plants were about 2.5 feet tall and produced heavily. Minimal staking is required. This variety is perfect for dark, sweet sauces, canning, cooking and more. Also a very nice snack in the garden. If you grow in smaller gardens or containers, these will work excellently. A few fruits were more elongated than heart shaped. I recommend 4-5 gallon containers or larger! I really loved these for sauces and cooking with. -
Dwarf Awesome tomato is now one of my favorite dwarf varieties. 3 feet tall plants have rugose leaves and bear 6-16 ounce fruits that are as flavorful as you will ever get them. Fruits are sweet, fruity, rich, smooth and delicious. Plants are hardy too. Ours never showed any signs of diseases, even in a difficult year. What's more, plants went on to produce until frosts. This is a great tomato for just snacking straight from the garden, sandwiches, garnishing and more. They should do well in containers also, because plants are compact and hardy. Dwarf Banana Toes Tomato
Dwarf Banana Toes tomato is a product of the Dwarf Tomato Project. This collaborative team has produces some of the best dwarf tomatoes in the world. Banana Toes is a mild, classic sauce and paste variety. 2- 3 inch fruits are produced on plants that are not taller than 2 feet. Determinate plants start ripening their fruits about 70 days after transplant. When fully ripened, banana Toes turns a beautiful canary yellow. Very pretty fruits that can do well for cooking and canning also. Perfect for container and small space gardening! -
Here is another good flavored, dwarf cherry. Dwarf Barossa Moon tomato is canary yellow and slightly larger than the average size cherry tomato. When fully ripened they are sweet, not too mild and flavorful. These are perfect for snacking in the garden, salads, dehydrating and more. Just pop one in your mouth and experience a burst of fruitiness. I love these because they are relatively crack-free and begin to ripen pretty early. Ours came in around 70 days after transplant. Plants continued producing until season's end. Dwarf plants are around 2 feet tall and produce clusters of 5 -7 fruits, under thick foliage. Perfect for in-ground and container growing!
