    Krupnya Grozd tomato is a 10-14 ounce, red oxheart with deep flavor and nice texture! They have wispy vines that would need  early staking. Production is good to excellent! When fully ripened, these are are so beautiful that you will always have your eyes on them. Ripening to a nice red, Krupnya Grozd has nice thick, semi-firm flesh and awesome aroma too. Taste is sweeter with little acidity but complete. Perfect selection for oxheart lovers. Good market and sandwich tomato. Will also do well for cooking, sauce and canning. I truly like its balanced taste. Will definitely stay in my grow-list from now on! 80 days.

    Paulina Tomato

    Paulina tomato is a family heirloom shared with me by a tomato loving friend. He said that a Mennonite family  shared seeds with him. He named it after his grandmother. I grew it out in 2016 for the first time. They made some great sauce and canned up pretty good too. This year, 2019, we grow out several plants. They all performed excellently, producing 3 inch long or more, fat, deep red fruits that were sweet meaty meaty. Plants were heavy producers. Paulina is along the lines of Kapia Red and  Polish Linguisa. Thick rich flesh, sweet and multipurpose. Make yourself some great sauce with these!     Mushroom Basket Tomato

    One of the hits here for us in 2019, Mushroom Basket tomato is a really nice stuffing and sauce variety. For starters, it cooks down into some really nice sauce without much effort. But it also shines as stuffing tomato. Because of its size, it works as a good stuffer meal for two people, unless of course, if you have big appetite. These also work well as garnish tomatoes.     Green Gables tomato is a very delicious green variety that every should try. This 5-10 ounce fruit is sweet, a little fruity and satisfying. Bred by Jason Haynes, this is truly a nice producer! Potato leaved plants are hardy and prolific. Ours were just under 6 feet tall. A perfect tomato for slicing, it also shines in green tomato sauce, on sandwiches, for cooking and garnish. I especially love its wonderful aroma when fully ripened. For those who have never tried a green when ripened tomato variety, this would be a great way to start.     Dujon Burr Tomato

    I am so happy that I grew these out.  This rare variety is a great little slicer. They also do great as canners and juice tomatoes. A new addition to our rare variety list, Dujon Burr tomato plants are determinate and just do their thing.  Plants have very good production, with good disease resistance to back that up!  These started ripening about 72 days after transplant. When fully ripened, Dujon Burr is bright red, juicy and have overall good balance. Nice selection for such an early tomato. Nice texture too! (Seed Source Gatersleben, # LYC 3493.)

    Coeur de Surpriz Tomato

    One of my biggest regrets in 2019 is that I didn't grow enough Coeur de Surpriz tomato plants. I grew out 4 plants and 3 of them were drowned in the flood waters in mid-June. When the remaining plant finally started ripening its fruits, I was amazed at how beautiful they were. Not wanting to eat many, in order to maximize my seed count, I tried a few. Then a few more, and more. Eventually I only saved fruits from half of the plant. These were sweet and fruity with a little tang. Very good little tomato! Bi-colored outside and out. Good choice for fresh eating, salads, garnish, dehydrating, fresh salsa, canning and more. Nice all purpose variety. Might I say again, very, very good!

    I really appreciate a well balanced red tomato. Church tomato is just that. About 1 pound beefsteaks are meaty and delicious. Tough plants are about 6 feet tall, eager to produce and hard workers. Ours showed no signs of diseases in 2019. Plants produce nice crops of deep red fruits, that are in clusters of 3 or 4. Ours began ripening about 80 days after transplant. Perfect sandwich tomato. Not to large or too juicy. Our largest was about 1.3 pounds. Great market tomato. Good also for cooking with. Made some great fried green tomatoes with these! Lovely choice for any tomato garden!

Our  five feet tall, wispy leaved plants started ripening their fruits about 72 days after transplant and continued until the end of the season.     Golden Fang Tomato

    Golden Fang tomato is a fat, meaty variety that is perfect for sauce, cooking and paste. 3-5 ounce fruits have a wonderful aroma and sweet pleasing taste. This tomato reminds me of the yellow version of Donkey's Ears. Plants have wispy leaves and skinny vines and would benefit from early staking. They produce plenty for such skinny vines. Ripened fruits are bright yellow and very attractive. For me, these are sauce specialist, but I did make some really good salsa with then too. They are also very tasty eaten just in the garden right off the vine, no salt required! If you love yellow tomato sauce, these would work great with very little effor
  • Gezahnte Buhrer Keel Tomato

    From now on, whenever I want a stuffing variety, I will first consider Gezahnte Buhrer Keel Tomato. That's because I made some really delicious meals with it this year. I stuffed them withe everything! Tuna salad, Mexican rice, pasta, mushrooms and veggies, scrambled egg omelet and more. Each time, they performed admirably. In some cases, we placed them stuffed with foods in the oven for up to 10 minutes and they did excellently. This variety is thick-walled, sweet and mild. It's present in your stuffed meals, but not overwhelming. Shorter and prolific plants. Fruits are large enough to make a good meal when stuffed. Plants showed good disease resistance. Additionally, they make fantastic tomato sauce! A winner for me!

    Reinhard Kraft's Purple Sugar Tomato

    Reinhard Kraft's Purple Sugar Tomato was my winner for best tasting cherry in 2019. These things are packed with flavor! I especially loved its production too! Intense and tasty, wet and tart fruits were missing nothing. Similar in looks to Chocolate Cherry and Rosella and Black Cherry, this one, for me, beset them all for taste. Large bunches of about 10-15 fruits just kept coming all summer long. Plants are hardy and tall. If you like a forward tasting tomato that has everything.     Sky Reacher tomato was a gem for us in 2019. Not knowing exactly what to expect, I planted these and waited patiently. What we got was a variety that was beautiful, tasty and prolific. I harvested so many of these that I could literally reach the sky if I stacked them and stood on top! LOL.  The perfect salad and slicing tomato. This variety has nice texture, which along with its stunning bi-colors, makes it perfect for market sales too! It's visually very appealing and will turn heads for you. Taste is balanced with a little tang. I like everything about Sky Reacher. Hardy plants, continually harvesting until frost!

    Tlacolula Pink tomato plants are tall, and prolific producers of ruffled, bell-shaped tomatoes, that are about 2-4 ounces. Our plants showed good disease resistance and determination to produce in adverse conditions. Plants also like to spread so get ready for some continual tying up Stake early! These are perfect for sauces, garnish, cooking and fresh eating. Sweeter mild and pleasing with a medium-soft texture, it has a taste that can work well in any applications. Makes great salsa too! Expect your first ripened fruits around 75 days after transplant. A big hit at the farmers market! Try stuffing these with some flavored or Mexican rice, topped with cheese. Delicious!

    Domingo Tomato

    Domingo tomato is a fat, unapologetic beefsteak with fantastic taste. Fruits can reach 2.5 pounds but average 1.5. Sweeter, meaty, old fashioned taste will suck you in and keep you wanting more. Perfect for sandwiches and so much more. Production is good for such a large variety, but not prolific. Pink fruits begin to ripen about 85 days after transplant. Our plants had good resistance to early and late blight. These will benefit from early staking and deep watering every once in a while. Great looking, crack free fruits! You will need to find your slice of bread under these. They are huge! A keeper for me!
  • Girthmire's Pride Tomato

    Girthmire's Pride tomato could easily become one of my favorite varieties. I like it's production, unique oxheart look, disease resistance and determination in tough weather conditions. Meaty and flavorful fruits will suck you right in! These tomatoes have superb texture and are ready-made for sandwiches. But they are perfect for sauces and cooking too. Great choice for canning! I like them best right off the vine. Try biting into one from the pointy blossom end, delicious!! Plants produce plenty 6-12 ounce fruits that are sweet, juicy, fleshy and may I say again, beautifully textured! 80 days to ripen but the wait is well worth it. No salt needed!

    Pumpkin Oxheart Tomato

    This year, 2019, we were again fortunate to secure some really neat oxheart varieties. And Pumpkin Oxheart tomato is another fine member of the oxheart family! Medium sized fruits are nicely heart shaped and eye catching. Ripening to a nice rich pink, this selection has a mild and complete tomato taste. I would classify this as a sweeter tomato. I really like this tomato because it is not overwhelming and can fit into any scenario. Sandwiches, sauces, it has nice texture for salads, cooking, stews etc. It truly is a great tasting fruit. You can't go wrong with Pumpkin. Nice production and good disease resistance.  Stake early for best results.  
  • Big Orange From Amuz Tomato

    Pretty and blemish-free, yellow tomatoes are oblate and delicious. These are not really large. Our biggest was about 10 ounces but most fruits were between 6 and 8 ounces. Big Orange From Amuz tomato is a keeper for us. I really loved how abundant it was in 2019. Plants produced prolifically and pretty early too. Our first ripened fruits came in around 70-75 days, making it one of the earliest in the garden. Taste is sweet and mild with a nice fruity finish. Plenty juice on these.     Peppermint tomato is a very beautiful variety that packs nice sweet flavor too. True to the yellow bi-color family, this variety is so sweet that it's almost like a tropical fruit. When sliced, Peppermint easily wins any bi-color competition. Colors are vibrant and present like a carnival of rainbow colors. It also has a very nice aroma when totally ripened. This is the perfect garnish and sandwich tomato. With some creativity, you can make the prettiest platter with these. Plants are good producers and hard workers.     White Eyez tomato is a stable variant of Dragon's Eye. Light yellow tomates with speckles of green and gold are very tasty and refreshing. In 2015, when I first discovered these in my garden, I was baffled. I have grown them each year since then and they have always produced the same thing. Plants are about 6 feet tall and produce bunches of 5-6 golf ball sized fruits with wonderful flavor and texture. For me, taste is not similar to Dragon's Eye, which is a delicious variety also. White Eyez is fruitier and perhaps has a bit more balance. Both are great though! Expect your first ripened fruits around 70 days after transplant. Perfect for snacking, garnish.

    Looking for a really pretty and tasty tomato for garnish, sauces, market sales and more? Zebra Ezel tomato will definitely work. This delicious variety will turn heads every time in your garden. Very prolific plants are hardy and  produce bunches of about 4-5 fruits, that begin to ripen about 75 days after transplant.  When ripened, bi-colored fruits are blends of green with light streaks of orange. Plants are tall so early and effective staking would help. Zebra Ezel has an earthy taste that is complex. It veers on the mild side, but not too much. Just the rich amount of tartness.     If you know of everyone who doesn't love Rosella tomato, I would like to have a serious talk with them. Purple cherries bear on trellises of 10-15 and are so good that they will never make it out of your garden. I ate many of these while working and I could never get enough. Plants are prolific, hardy and determined to produce their crops. Ours made it through a very tough summer without any issues. Plants remained healthy until  season's end. These are sweet, with some tang, very balanced, juicy with super overall flavor.     Date Fruit Tomato

    Date Fruit tomato is a wonderful find for us this year. This wonder firm cherry variety makes a great keeper. Semi Determinate plants produce massive amounts of sweet yellow cherries. Our tersely each had 10-20 fruits on them. These plants never stop going, producing fruits that had long keeping life after harvest. Date fruit is a salad lover's dream. Sliced or used whole in salads, the perk up everything. If you are a market vendor, this is perfect. Short plants are so productive that you will have a hard time harvesting them all, I did. Perfect also for canning, dehydrating or just snacking in the garden. I ate a lot while working. A must try!
  • Epstein's Big Zac Tomato

    If you are looking for a great tasting beefsteak that will always grow large, Epstein's Big Zac tomato will work for  you. Huge pink fruits can reach 3 pounds and grow on potato leaf vines. Plants, though not prolific, produce plenty. I really like its disease resistance. These held up really well even in a tough growing season. Big Zac is fun flavored, tasty and reminds me of Cleota Pink. This is a superb choice for growers wanting a tasty beefsteak, especially for sandwiches. This variety will benefit from early staking. These make thick, meaty slices. I love them!
  • Cancelmo Family Heirloom

    Anyone who knows me would tell you that oxhearts are my favorite family of tomatoes. There are very few that I don't like. I have had Cancelmo Family Heirloom tomato seeds in my thoughts for years but I never grew them out until 2019. What I discovered is that these have totally lived up to the good reputation of pink oxhearts. Very flavorful, tasty and mild, these have excellent texture and plenty meat. They are not as large as some of the others, but they are not too small either. Ours averaged 10-14 ounces., some were around 8 and we did have a few that were about 1 pound.  Skinny vines are prolific producers and will produce until frost.  A very nice canning, sandwich, market tomato.  Dont forget to stake well. Try these, you'll love them.
