If beauty, taste and production is what you love in your tomatoes, then Desdemona's Heart tomato might satisfy tour desires. Similar to Orange Russian 117, this oxheart variety is certainly worth growing. vines produce plenty 4-10 ounce beefsteaks that are mostly yellow inside, with some pink/red marbling. Fruits are sweet, meaty, have great texture and some underlying fruitiness. You can expect your first ripened tomatoes around the 80 day mark. Proper staking can certainly help. Perfect variety for sandwiches, sauces, market sales, fresh eating, cooking and garnishing. Truthfully, you can do anything with Desdemona's Heart! Vines have shown good disease resistance in our gardens.

Out of stockI wanted to try Accordion Orange tomato because of it's unique looks and also on a recommendation that it had good taste. Both were correct. It certainly was unique in it's look, but it also made some fantastic tomato sauce. I like that it is not too juicy, so dehydrating was easy. Dehydrated bits were so flavorful that it will be one of my go-to varieties for this purpose. Fruits have hollow cavities that may be perfect for stuffing. When eaten fresh, this variety is mild and sweetish. It also keeps well, much better than many varieties considered to be keepers. This is a great variety for a multiplicity of applications. Worth Growing!

Blush tomato is a Fred Hempel creation that we totally love. 1-2 inch long fruits are blushed with yellows and pinks. They are among the best tasting tomatoes that we grow each year! These are sweet, fruity and juicy, but with a very nice tangy balance. Perfect for so many things and excellent eaten right off the vine!

White Oxheart Tomato
One of the whitest tomatoes that we have grown, it lives up to the oxheart family name. White Oxheart tomato is a 6 to 10 ounce fruit that is milder, sweet and delicious. It's a great candidate for tomato sandwiches and a sweet white tomato sauce. Skinny vines produce a good amount of fruits, but need to be staked early. Vines have also demonstrated good disease resistance for us. You can expect fruits all the way until frosts. These sell very well for me at the Farmers' Market too. I have had many repeat customers, just for White Oxheart. Feel free to visit our other oxhearts. This is a really good tomato! 80 Days. See It on YouTube. -
Dwarf Melanie's Ballet tomato has easily danced its way into my sauce-making heart! One of my favorite tomato names, I was really happy that it had also had good taste also. These have a tender feel to them, so they need to be used within 4-5 days of being harvested. If you could pull that off, you would have some of the best sauce around. 3 feet tall plants produce tender pink fruits that are about two inches long. Fruits have thick walls and thin skin. They are sweeter and flavorful with a bit of old-time flavor. Great for container growing too!
-
Brad's Black Heart tomato is another one that surprised me in 2017. Wispy, 5-6 foot vins produce a surprising amount darkened colored, blunt oxhearts, that could reach 1 pound. My first taste test with these was very pleasing. I found that they were full flavored, with nice balance of juice, sugars and tang. There was also something else that I am yet to place my finger on. It was all good though! Our plants produced well into fall without any signs of diseases.

If you love pesto, or salad with basil, basil tea or anything basil, you will find much comfort in growing out some of these. Perhaps the most popular basil and still one of my favorites, Sweet Italian Basil is a staple in our household. Easy to grow, this very flavorful variety is ready for harvest form sprouts to maturity, which is when ever you wish throughout its growth cycle. Pluck some sprouts for your salads or garnish or harvest bigger leaves at any point for any dish that you choose. Here, we make almost any salad and tomato dish using basils of many kinds. Eggs, soup and many more dishes get their accompaniment what basil too! Get a few varieties and taste the delicious difference! You can't go wrong with this one. Germinates in just a few days!

True Black Brandywine Tomato
One of my new favorites, I first grew True Black Brandywine tomato in 2020. Because it carries the Brandywine name, I expect it to be excellent, and it was! The 5 feet tall, potato plants, produced a nice amount of 10 ounce, deep brown fruits. They were pretty and mostly blemished free. Aroma on fully ripened fruits were fantastic. I made some awesome fresh salsa with these! I also made some super tomato sandwiches with True Black Brandywine. If you are seeking a hardy, easy to handle, delicious variety, please check these out! -
I never have to take notes whenever I grow Rose tomato. This is because it has etched in my mind its remarkable assets. It's aways in my top choices for beefsteak tomatoes. Rose is meaty, prolific, flavorful, almost blemish free and consistent. I could go on and on, but I would leave some of it's fine qualities for you to talk about when you grow it. Rose tomatoes have outstanding balance. They are sweet but not too much, rich with slight acidity. If your quest is to find an outstanding beefsteak, this is certainly one. I also highly recommend it as a main crop tomato. It has done wonderfully for me through the years. hardy plants. Customers love it! Recommended!

I've grown some pretty dwarf varieties in my time, but dwarf Egypt Yellow tomato is among the prettiest. It's not fancy colored, just a very clean canary yellow, that will melt your heart. After your heart has been melted, your tastebuds will follow! This tomato is as delicious as it's pretty. Dwarf Egypt Yellow has superb texture and good balance. Milder and sweet with a hint of fruit is how I would describe it! Plants are "Tree like". Ours were about 3 feet tall in full sunlight and produced very well. Fruits were consistently around 12 ounces and were available until late in the season. Perfect for sandwiches, sauces, slicing, fresh eating, garnishing and more. Recommended!

San Marzano 2 Tomato
If you haven't grown San Marzano 2 tomatoes yet, I encourage you to do so. My plants were indeterminate, huge and bushy. They produced a lot until frost. This is a very prolific variety and fruits just keep ripening from mid summer until frost. These are a bit larger than San Marzano, the determinate variety. Fruits are firm but not as firm as San Marzano. It's a sweeter fruit that gets a deep red when ripened. Perfect sauce tomato, perfect for canning, paste, cooking and so much more. If you are a sauce lover, you won't be disappointed with San Marzano 2! A must grow for me from now on! Highly Recommended! -
Apricot Brandywine Tomato
In 2016 I remembered saying to myself that it had been a long time since I grew a good new yellow variety. After that I set out to grow more of them. Since Then I came up with quite a few. This year I again hit the jackpot with Apricot Brandywine tomato and some others. I am very pleased to say that this is a super good tomato. Potato leaved plants produce plenty pale yellow fruits that weigh between 8-16 ounces. Fruits begin to ripen about 80 days after transplant and keep going until later in the season. It's mid-September here and I still have some on my plants. These beefsteaks are fruity, with thick sweeter flesh. Perfect for sandwiches. Great aroma too! Great choice for yellow market tomato as they are also blemish-free. 85 Days! -
0-Days. Nairobi Nights tomato seeds were sent to me by my African friend. This is a very rich, balanced and delicious tomato that everyone should grow. For me, this is a complete tomato and it will always have a regular spot in my garden. There is some similarities to Black Trim, which is a good tomato, but I feel that Nairobi Nights is a far superior fruit. It seems to love hotter weather and just flourishes during the height of the season here. Add this one to your rotation of black tomatoes.

Gypsy Baron Pepper
Gypsy Baron Pepper is a very pretty, purple when ripened sweet variety! Exceptional flavor for cooking, salads frying and more! Plants were about 2.5-3 feet tall and produced prolifically. Peppers go from deep purple to purple with a yellowish blush at the bottom end when ripened. Sweet and perfect for salads, frying and pickling whole or sliced in half. Great little garden snack! So much potential with this one! -
Texwine tomato is perhaps the best beefsteak that we grew in 2018. Its flavor is fantastic! This is the kind of tomato that you don't need to use salt or pepper, cheese or oils, on. It's just great all on its own. Just pick them and start eating! If you decide to make sandwiches with it though, watch out! It will rock your world! Texwine vines are not too tall (perhaps 4 feet). They produce smooth fruits that can reach 1.5 pounds. Most of ours averaged about 12-20 ounces. First ripened fruits were about 80 days a continued till season's end. Sweeter, fruity, meaty, great texture balance. Recommended! See It on YouTube.

Rosella Tomato
If you know of everyone who doesn't love Rosella tomato, I would like to have a serious talk with them. Purple cherries bear on trellises of 10-15 and are so good that they will never make it out of your garden. I ate many of these while working and I could never get enough. Plants are prolific, hardy and determined to produce their crops. Ours made it through a very tough summer without any issues. Plants remained healthy until season's end. These are sweet, with some tang, very balanced, juicy with super overall flavor. Great cherry for canning, perfect for snacking, excellent for dehydrating, a treat in salads, almost perfect in every way. No splitting or cracking. Hardy plants too! 75 Days! Click Here to see it on YouTube! -
Mayo's Delight Tomato
80-85 Days. Mayo's Delight tomato really impressed me in 2017. It has certainly made it's way in my regular grow list. This multi-purpose red oxheart is very impressive. Weighty fruits average about one pound, but can be larger. I especially love its rich sweet taste, and intense flavorful juice. Makes great pasta sauce. Serves well as a sandwich tomato too! Vines have good disease resistance and will produce until frost. This is a really, really good tomato! Try it! right off the vine. -
Fordhook Giant Swiss Chard
Fordhook Giant Swiss chard is truly the giant of the chard world because it is not uncommon to see its crinkled leaves reaching more than 2 fee tall. Swiss chard is noted for it's nutrients that does the body good! Fordhook is especially popular for its great taste and versatility! Sautee some with some olive oil, salt and pepper. That's all you need! -
Myriam Tomato
Bunches and bunches of bright red cherries is what you will harvest over and over again. Mariam Cherry tomato is a prolific multiflora type that will produce so many great cherries for you that you head will spin. Indeterminate plants were between 5 and 6 feet tall and started ripening very early in the season. Most clusters had 40- more than 60 tomatoes on them. Disease resistance was very good and fruits were sweet over tart. Excellent snack, great for preserves and canning whole. I am really happy that I tried this one! Will definitely grow again! -
Out of stockI was introduced to Alabama Red Okra in 2018. The gifter of my seeds had really high reviews for the variety, so I decided to grow them out. I started seeds late and directly in the ground, around mid-June. By Mid September I already had harvested several times. I harvested many times more, until frosts filled the plants. Alabama Red is a very flavorful okra. What I like also, is that they remain soft for a much longer time than many varieties. So you can get maximum use. These okras have a nutty flavor. I enjoyed them fried and in some okra soup. I did not make gumbo but my friends tell me that's where they really shine!

Dwarf Lucky Leprechaun tomato was the biggest surprise for us in the 2018 season. It caught me totally off guard by being the earliest variety out of 215 to begin ripening. We recorded its first ripened fruits in 62-64 days after transplant. I thought that this could be the case because there may have been some fruit setting when we transplanted it. But that was not the case, because all of our Lucky Leprechaun plants were ripening fruits at the same time. From that point they never stopped until the crop was done. Determinate plants are not taller than 2.5 feet and remain loaded. Fruits are mildly sweet and juicy. Nice flavor, not bland! A fantastic choice for early and container gardens.

Out of stockI was in search of more sauce and past varieties and decided to try Polish Linguisa tomato. Needles to say, I was pleased with its performance. Our plants produced huge amounts of 2-3 inch, elongated fruits that kept coming all season long. I also like that they showed good disease resistance to early blight. I did spray them once as a preventative. Polish Linguisa made some first class sauce and salsa. It reminded me of Abbittista, another fine sauce tomato! I did not make paste but I suspect it will work well for that too! A nice choice for anyone wanting to make thick and rich sauce without much effort! 80 Days!

Clemson Spineless Okra is a prolific and popular variety that was developed in 1939. Perhaps one of the more popular varieties, Clemson Spineless is also very early. In most cases first harvest could be done around 60 days after transplant. Seeds can be directly sowed once the soil is warm enough or started indoors and transplanted in the garden. Okras should be harvested when smaller for best use and taste. I break a few tips off. If they break right off then they are ready for harvest. If they don't, they could be past the point where they are totally edible. Plants can grow from 5 to 8 feet.
-
Cote De Saint Andre is a big red tomato that can reach 2 pounds. This tomato is all meat! You will be hard pressed to find a more balanced tomato. Tall, vigorous vines produce plenty huge tomatoes that begin to ripen about 85 days after transplant. Ripened fruits are full of aroma and good old fashioned flavor. There is also plenty of rich juicy flesh. Great sauce and sandwich tomato!
-
75 Days. Berkley Tie Dye Pink tomato has totally different characteristics from its green sister. Nice sized bi-color fruits can reach 10-12 ounces. Vines are great with diseases and determined to produce. Tomatoes are flavorful, milder and juicy. Perfect for salsas, sandwiches, garnish, market sales and sauces and more.

Astro Arugula
Astro Arugula is a nutty and slightly spicy variety. It has leaves that are less lobed than other varieties and baby leaves can be clipped as earl as 3 weeks after sowing. One of my personal varieties, I have tried this Astro in salads and sandwiches more times that I can remember! It loves cooler weather so seeds can be sowed directly into the garden in early spring. A beautiful addition to any herb garden. Try some again in early fall by planting seeds towards the middle to end of August. A beautiful treat, even on pizzas etc! -
Out of stockI couldn't believe my eyes when my Dwarf Pepper Like Striped tomato plants stared ripening their fruits. They were loaded and looked like pinstriped decorations. Determinate plants were about 2 feet tall and had so many fruits on them that they had to be well staked from the start. 2 inch long fruits turned from green to a beautiful red and yellow pinstripe. they were, mildly sweet, flavorful with good overall flavor. not too much juice. These were great sauce makers too! A good keeper after harvest! Perfect for sauces, salsa, cooking, garnish, market sales and more. Great for container growing!
