Perhaps the biggest and fattest sauce tomato that I have grown, Abbittista tomato has certainly won a place in my heart. Similar to Polish Linguisa, this beautiful, red fruit, is elongated and can reach 4 inches long. Plants for us were prolific and started ripening their fruits around 80 days after transplant. I especially loved that they displayed good disease resistance, even in a bad tomato year. I also liked that it taste very good when eaten fresh. When I made sauce with Abbittista, I was blown away. Rich, thick sauce, was naturally on the sweeter side. I did not have to do much with it to make it perfect for serving. This tomato will also work well for ketchup. See it on YouTube! -
Snow White Cherry tomato is a beautiful white fruit that has really good flavor. These are wonderful for growing in containers too!Use cages for staking if growing this way. Vines are about 5 feet tall and prolific. I personally love these for munching and salads, but they work well for drying too! Expect ripened fruits around the 70 day mark! Rosella Purple dwarf tomato is the perfect variety if you are a tomato beginner. All tomatoes are not made equally. Try as you may, not every tomato will make seamlessly great sauce. Amos Coli tomato, will stand up to the best of them when it comes to tomato sauce. Thick, 2-3 inch plums are ready to make some of the best accompaniment to your pasta, even for non-cooks. They have a naturally saucy feel, even when eaten fresh. I also made some great tomato stew with these, what a treat! Amos Coli vines are wispy leafed and produce plenty of fruits. Everett's Rusty Oxheart Tomato
Easily one of the prettiest varieties that we grew in 2020, Everett's Rusty Oxheart tomato did very well for us! When fully ripened, rust colored, bi-colored fruits, are blushed with green and yellowish colors. You just have to see this for yourself. The real treat is when they are sliced. No matter how you slice them the results are the same. You will experience some of the most intense tomato colors. Even better, they are very tasty, fruity and sweet with a little tang. West Virginia Sweetmeat Tomato
West Virginia Sweetmeat tomato is an Amish variety that can easily reach 2.5 pounds. In fact, about 10% of earlier fruits reached and surpassed that mark. A few were 3 pounds or more! Healthy, regular leafed plants, are hard working and produce quite nicely, though not prolific. Production was very pleasing and nonstop until season's end. The flavor is sweet, very rich and delicious. Texture was also very good. Plants MUST be staked properly, with some extra support for individual fruits where needed. Expect your first ripened fruit out 80 days after transplant. A great choice for sandwiches and so much more! If you love them huge with good flavor, this one's for you! -
Dwarf Tennessee Suite is a purplish, 4-10 ounce fruits that have beautiful green stripes. This bi-color fruit begins to ripen in about 80 days from transplant. Plants are tree type and have rugose leaves. Oblate fruits have a sweet balanced and rich flavor .I have noticed that it's shape is not consistent, some are more oblate and others, more round. Nonetheless this is wonderful tomato! A great tomato for sandwiches, garnishing, salsa and eating fresh off the vine. -
Black Krim tomato is perhaps one of the 5 most popular heirloom varieties of all time. A feat such as this could only be accomplished by one thing, QUALITY! This wonderful slicer is an all purpose tomato that can do just about anything. Fruits average about 8-18 ounces and are brownish purple when fully ripened. Brad's Atomic Grape tomato is, in my opinion, one of the best tasting antho varieties that there is. It has a good mixture of sweets and acids with very good balance. The perfect tomato for snacking in the garden salads, dehydrating and tons more. It's also a very good candidate for market sales! About 2 inch elongated fruits are about one inch around. The perfect specimens have very dark, top antho, when well ripened are tri-colored black, orange and green. A truly pretty fruit!. Plants are hardy, about four feet tall and very productive. If you are looking for a really consistent, large variety, then 1884 is one that you should consider. When I grew these, I wasn't sure what to expect. But what I got was a tomato that deserves to be in any garden. If you love large tomatoes, try this one. 1884 is sweetish, with really good old and classic tomato taste. Texture is medium firm and perfect for sandwiches. Our biggest have been around 1.5 pounds. Vines produce well for such a large variety. Ours begin to ripen about 82 days after transplant. Good disease resistance. Strong vigorous vines. Great for slicing and fresh eating too. -

If you are searching for a very good tasting variety that ripens early and produces plenty all season long, then Amazon Chocolate tomato is the one! This dark colored, beautiful and blemish-free fruit will blow you away with its production. Plant are not too tall (perhaps 4-5 feet) and produce many clusters of 4 or 5 8-16 ounce fruits. Most fruits average around 10-12 ounces. This is a great tomato for a main crop, greenhouse growing and market sales where it will excel. Reinhard Kraft's Purple Sugar Tomato
Reinhard Kraft's Purple Sugar Tomato was my winner for best tasting cherry in 2019. These things are packed with flavor! I especially loved its production too! Intense and tasty, wet and tart fruits were missing nothing. Similar in looks to Chocolate Cherry and Rosella and Black Cherry, this one, for me, beset them all for taste. Aunt Ruby's German Green tomato isn't just one of the best green when ripened tomatoes, for me, it's one of the best tomatoes period. An all time classic, this large beefsteak will fulfill your every tomato desire. Vines are foliage dense and thick. Fruits weigh between 10 and 20 ounce. When fully ripened, Aunt Rubys German Green is greenish with pink blushes on the bottom end. -

Buratino Tomato
This variety is one of the toughest that I have ever grown. Very wispy vines produce prolifically and refuse to stop. In 2019 we had very bad weather and almost 3 weeks of nonstop rain. We lost hundreds of plants, but Buratino tomato just kept growing and producing. Eventually we harvested plenty. These are very flavorful and make nice canning and salad tomatoes too. Great for snacking! Very attractive and appealing fruits are well balanced with a little tang. Juicy and succulent, delicious. Early staking is recommended. Seventy two days to ripen from transplant. These may do well in larger containers. A real treat! -
Scotch Bonnet Yellow Pepper
When I want pepper sauce for seasoning my meats, soups and most foods, I use Scotch Bonnet Peppers. For me, this variety makes the best, middle of the heat chain sauce. I also use it to temp down some of the hotter varieties. By combining them with varieties such as, Trinidad Scorpion, Ghosts and Carolina Reaper, my sauces are just right for seasoning or spreading over foods. When making these hot sauces I mix 3 Scotch Bonetts to 1 super hot. That makes the heat and flavor perfect for me! Scotch Bonnets have a Scoville unit rating of 80,000 to 400,000. So they do pack some heat. On that same scale, Jalapeño have a score of 5,000, with Ghost peppers 1,041,427 and Carolina Reaper 1,641,000. So if you dont like super hot heat, this variety may be a good choice. Prolific plants. Caution. If you are not used to chili peppers this one can be out of your league, so please be careful. -
Tasmanian Chocolate dwarf tomato is a full flavored and beautiful fruit. They grow on plants that are about 3.5 feet tall. These will perform well in buckets or in the ground. Plants produce plenty, light chocolate colored fruits that can reach 12 ounces. Take a bite and you will discover a really juicy fruit that has a bit of earthiness to it. Plants quickly become top heavy so some staking may be necessary. You can expect your first ripened fruits around the 80 day mark. Amana Orange Tomato
75-80 days. Amana Orange tomato is a large beefsteak that turns bright orange when fully ripened. Discovered by Gary Staley of Florida, this fine tomato could take care of all of your tomato issues. It's meaty, sweet, rich and very balanced. A great sandwich tomato, this will also be good in nice yellow sauce, cooking, salsas and just eating off the vine. Vines are bushy and tall and would need good staking. Expect lots or nice beefsteaks from this heavy producer. Good disease resistance! Karma Apricot Tomato
Another stunning variety by Karen Olivier and Marsha Eisenberg, KARMA Apricot tomato is a beauty to behold. I also happen to think that this tomato has the perfect name. This potato leafed variety should do well in northern gardens! Plants are tall and produce nicely all season long. They begin to ripen fruits about 75 days after transplant. KARMA Apricot is mildly sweet, with delicious fruity undertones. Texture is nice too! Perfect cherry for salads, snacking, preserves and garnish. Tall plants so stake early and well!
