When it comes to outstanding tomatoes, it would be hard to find many green when ripened varieties that are better than Green Giant tomato. Large, oblate, green fruits can reach more than one pound but average 12-16 ounces. This perfect sandwich variety is always very high on our list. Plants are tall and have potato leaves. Ours always display good disease resistance and produce until fall. Green Giant is a great producer too, bearing plenty clusters of 3 or 4 fruits that begin to ripen about 85 days after transplant. Stake and feed well and you will be amply rewarded. Highly RecommendedSee it on YouTube!

Brilliant! This was the first green when ripe variety I grew and I’ve grown a few others since but none of them compare with the amazing flavor and texture of Green Giant. It’s not only the best green when ripe tomato I’ve grown so far it’s one of the best large beefsteaks period! It makes an absolutely divine BLT! The vines are massive and can produce a lot of large fruits up to a pound and even larger. Mine were also disease resistant. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is that they are late to produce and since I live in the Pacific Northwest I only get one large flush at the very end of the season. Also during the heat wave of 2021 it dropped a lot of blossoms and never really recovered, but so did most of my late season beefsteaks. Regardless, even though I will be trying out other green when ripe varieties in the future there will always be a prime space reserved in my garden for Green Giant.
