Try as you may, it'll be difficult to fine a variety as sauce ready as Big Girl tomato. Very willing plants produce nice quantities of 3 inch long, red fruits that have sweet and concentrated flavor. These naturally make some awesome sweet sauce. That's not all, they can very well and have good longevity after harvest. Our plants were about 5 feet tall and withstood everything weather-wise. Great choice for cooking too. Try these!

A very nice, larger sized cherry, Pink Ping Pong tomato is certainly a great snack, especially or anyone wanting a milder variety with good flavor. These are milder, sweet and slightly fruity. Pretty light pink fruits are produced on 6 feet tall plants. Production is good to excellent. Perfect variety for snacking, salads, canning and cooking. Can be a good farmers marked variety. Certainly worth growing and I will grow them again!

Out of stockFull flavored, old fashioned and complete is how I would describe Daniels tomato. Large fruits can weigh up to 2 pounds but are more often between 14 and 24 ounces. These have very good texture and are perfect for sandwiches. Potato leafed plants are about 5 feet or taller and produce plenty of smooth pink fruits. Good disease resistance and dependable variety that would be a hit at your farmers market. If you are looking for a really good sandwich tomato, here it is! Add it to your list.

Another nice surprise for me in 2021. I absolutely paid this variety no attention and almost didn't have enough time to harvest them. When I was almost done harvesting everything else, Sue's Little Red Heart was there, waiting for me to pick and enjoy. Forward tasting, slightly heart/plum shaped fruits are the perfect garden snack. Free of cracks, I have no doubt that this tomato would make great sauce. It would most definitely be great for dehydrating for powder of flakes, where I feel its flavor will really sparkle. Our plants were about 5 feet tall and seemed to be a little later to ripen, even though I am not sure. Taste was very good!

Black Mammoth Tomato
Black Mammoth Tomato is a rich tasting beefsteak that ripens purple/black. These can reach 14 ounces and sometimes more. Vigorous plants produce plenty, relatively crack fruits, that are sandwich ready. This tomato delivers the complete tomato experience for those who like a forward tasting variety! Ours averaged between 8 and 12 ounces but some were a bit larger. Great for market sales, garnish and even some sweet dark sauce or stew. You'll love these! 80-85 Days! Delicious 80 Days! -
Goose Rock Tomato is a huge red variety with outstanding old time flavor. These tomatoes were born sandwich ready. Fruits can weigh up to 2.5. Huge plants that can be 7 feet tall just keeps producing until frosts. Really good production for such a large fruit. These come in a little bit late but will be worth every second. Have a look at my images and you will practically be able to taste them. Please stake these well and get ready for bit things!!

CJ Russian is another new oxheart for us in 2021. I like these not only because of their good flavor but they proved to be a huge producer and very dependable variety for us. Plants were very prolific vibrant and hardy when some others were struggling. We got tons of these and I am grateful! Fruits are a pretty pink with little to no cracking, regardless of the weather. Taste is rich and mild. CJ Russian slices very nicely for sandwiches, plating etc. This tomato would shine as a sauce variety or even for canning when cut in halves or quarters. Great variety if you have a smaller garden and want bigger crops.

A very flavorful cherry variety, Mexico Midget tomato is a pleasure to grow whether you like cherry tomatoes in your salads or just for snacking on. Plants are about 5-6 feet tall, sometimes taller and produce a prolific crop of dime to nickel sized, full flavored cherries that will keep you snacking. These begin to ripen rather, with our first fruits coming in at 65 days. One of the last varieties to remain on the farm. Just cut one open and place a huge slice on your sandwich with some pepper, mayo, a pinch of salt, then sprinkle with chopped fresh basil. Clayton's Purple is a big, deep pink beefsteak that has fantastic flavor. Most fruits weigh between one and two pounds. Clean and crack-free, you would love these if you like them big and tasty. Its flavor is a bit like the old style tomatoes but not too much. It has a rich and complex finish that will please almost anyone who love that style of tomato. Plants are tall thick and robust. I made many sandwiches with these and truly miss them now that the season has ended. I will continue to grow these annually, whether or not I need seeds. One of my new favorites. About 82 days to first ripened fruits.

Out of stockThis deep red fruits can reach more than one pound. I am elated that I grew these because to me it's what a good tomato should taste like. Kentucky Beefheart tomato is a flavorful variety with full flavor. This a a great sauce tomato. It will also do well as a paste tomato, for cooking stews etc. Not too many seeds and plenty of giving flesh that sauce makers would love!! Our plants were hardy and showed good disease resistance.

Dwarf Noah Stripes tomato is a wonderful bi-colored fruit with rich complex flavor. This tomato reminds me of Girl Girl's Weird Thing tomato but on a dwarf plant. Our tree-like plants were no taller than 3.5 feet, had rugose leaves and they were very productive. Definitely one of the hardiest varieties that we grew in 2021. These will do good in larger containers of perhaps 4-5 gallons and with regular feeding and watering. Will have to be staked because of heavy production. Nice little slicer that's definitely worth growing!

How I wish I had grown more Longhorn tomato plants in 2021! These were sooo good! I am not sure what happened and how I only ended up with two plants, but I never grow two plants of anything! Nonetheless, I am happy that I experienced this delicious dark colored oxheart. Our plants were between 5 and 6 feet tall. Leaves were wispy but not excessively and plants produced plenty, though not prolific. Taste is well balanced, a bit earthy and satisfying. I especially love the texture of this tomato, just a smooth finish. Fruit size between 6 and 12 ounces. This is a perfect sandwich tomato. I didn't do anything else with it but I suspect it will make some good sauce. Without a doubt I will be growing this one in 2022.

Out of stockInkspot Micro Dwarf Tomato is a pretty interesting micro cherry variety. Fruits are small like one of its parents Pinocchio Orange. This is possibly the best tasting micro to date. When reading up on some of Inkspot's plant description I found some that said their plants grew to about 12 inches, well none of my 10 plants were that short. In fact for me they were more like 15 inches, while still producing nicely in 6 inch containers. Additionally, it was listed as a determinate variety. Well my plants seemed more like semi determinate. It's October 29th here and I still have one plant in my greenhouse that's producing, growing and getting taller. So for me these are not determinate at all. With that said, it does have many micro dwarf habits. Small plant, early producing and does well in just six inch pots and under light. As far as taste, this to me is very, very good! These are very dark and very beautiful. Check out my pictures. Definitely worth growing again and again. I would also recommend 1 gallon containers.

Dwarf Perfect Harmony Tomato
If you are looking for a dependable dwarf variety to grow in ground or in a container, try Dwarf Perfect Harmony tomato. This variety is very hard working and determined to produce. My 3 feet tall plants produced about 6 ounce, canary yellow tomatoes. Plants were always loaded and withstood diseases very well. Perfect Harmony's taste is sweet, not too mild with a hint of acidity. This is a nicely balanced tomato. It has a straight forward tomato taste with no complexities. You'd enjoy this one! -
Wrinkles and bumps are always a sign that a pepper is HOT! Well, Death Spiral is one of the hottest. This 2.5 inch long pepper is nothing to play with. If your pepper tolerance is moderate or low, this one is not for you. Despite is hotness, Death Spiral has nice flavor of what almost seems tropical. I couldn't quite place my finger on it, but that twist sure added some nice color to its already undeniable pull! In fact I used it to make some really great hot sauce this summer. It was the base for the many gallons that I made for my personal use. I love my sauces extremely hot, so this fireball was a gift for me. I also dehydrated many and made pepper flakes and powder.

Don't let the small size of Aji Charapita Pepper fool you. This thing is pack full of heat, measuring about 30,000 to 50,000 Scoville heat units (SHU) ! The smallest pepper that I have ever grown, these are very nice for cooking and drying. When dried, they can be used as flakes, powder or whole. Just think that a Jalapeno pepper measures about 2,500-10,000 SHU. That means that one Charapita is almost 10-15 times hotter that one jalapeno. Ask me, I had to eat them to prove my point. They are hot! Great little pepper for garnish etc. It is said that they are very popular with chefs in South America. I am elated to have this variety on my website!

Chinese 5 Color Pepper is a uniquely colored variety that literally changes to 4 different colors before fully ripening to its final 5th color, red. Have a look at my images and you will see the beauty of this pepper as it goes through its stages. A tasty variety, it packs medium heat and would be perfect for cooking in soups and stews. Would also make great pepper powder or flakes. Plants have dark /purple colored foliage and production is good. Be patient, as these are a little bit, with plants taking a little longer to mature. NOT FOR THE NOVICE!! Packed with heat, Apocalypse Scorpion Chocolate pepper made me some of the best hot sauce in 2021. I planted 6 plants and they never stopped producing. Very prolific, so you will get many peppers if you take care of them. These bumpy chocolate beauties measure about 1,400,000 SHU. As a comparison, so you would know how hot these are, Jalapenos measure 5,000-10,000 SHU. So if you want fire, you've got it right here! Apocalypse Scorpion Chocolate is not just heat. There's a very nice flavor behind the heat. If you can stand the burn then you will get to the flavor! Great for sauces, hot pepper flakes and powders. I have made so much sauce with these and shared much with my three sisters and mom. We are all fire-breathers! lol.

Opopeo Amaranth has large red/purple flower heads and greenish brown/bronze leaves that are, when tender, edible and delicious. In your flower garden, these will stand tall and erect, creating a spectacle du jour. Your gardens will never be dull with these and you will have fresh greens all summer long. These start blooming about 65 days after germination, which is best done via direct seeding. These do well when transplanted too. If you are into milling, Opopeo produces plenty seeds for your mill. Makes great flour!

Turnip-Purple Top White Globe is just as its name says. Round roots turn purple on top and white at the bottom. These can reach between 4-6 inches but are best when they are a bit smaller. Mildly sweet when baked boiled or roasted. Great in soups and stews too!!

Texas Star tomato is a big beautiful bi-color variety with very pleasing taste. I especially like its fruity undertones. Large plants produce 1-2 pound, sweet fruits that remind me of the Caribbean. These were some of the last to remain in the garden as it got colder. Texture is superb! Great sandwich or garnish tomato. Great for fresh salsa. Add some chopped mango, cilantro, garlic, a pinch of lime juice, chopped onions and let it sit for about 20 minutes before you devour the entire thing in one minute. Whatever you choose to do with Texas Star tomato, it's certainly a worthy grow!

Fat Frog Micro Dwarf Tomato
I'll get straight to the point! Fat Frog micro dwarf tomato is really good. Ripening green, with mildly sweet flavor and some mild fruity undertones, this micro gem is a recommended grow. Plants are between 10 and 14 inches tall with thick stems and by micro standards, produce some of the largest fruits. These grow nicely in 6 inch-1 gallon pots. I did not see any difference in plant size or production using either of these sizes. Production is good but not prolific. It's definitely worth adding to your micro dwarf tomato collection. Lopatinskie tomato is a really nice beefsteak that is productive and consistent. Taste is sweetish and full flavored and kind of old fashion. Perfect for slicing and sandwiches. Plants are tall heavy producers and regular leafed. Ours did quite well with diseases. The came through the intense summer weather with flying colors. Stake these well as production is heavy. Get you bushel baskets ready plenty tomatoes are coming!

Big Mack Tomato
If your aim is to have a perfectly sized sandwich tomato that can easily hold its own, you may want to try Big Mack tomato. Also known as Mac's Pride, this one is packed full of delicious texture, this one is definitely a keeper. 10-16 ounce fruits are borne on potato leafed plants that are productive and hardy. This heirloom is said to be over one hundred years old. Ripened fruits are a beautiful pink, with slightly yellowish shoulder, with appealing aroma and inviting appearance. Plants are taller and need staking. A real keeper! -
To me, Aji Fantasy pepper is one of the most useful peppers that I have grown in years. It's has perfect heat and flavor for a multiplicity of things. I use these a lot for seasoning and cooking. This canary yellow fruit has an interesting shape which I have hardships describing, so I will leave that up to you. Plants are super productive so you will get many many fruits. Also a perfect variety for vendors. Nice mild to medium heat with sweetish flesh and super aroma. nice pickling variety. Great for mild sauces, flakes and powders. A real find if you are pepper lover!

Out of stockOUT OF STOCK, SORRY! To me, Blot pepper is one of the prettiest big fruits that I have seen. What's more, it's a very tasty sweet pepper. Peppers emerge with different shades of blotted purple, sometimes getting darker before ripening stage. As they begin to ripen, they turn light yellow, then yellowish orange, while keeping some to the purple blotting. This is a great stuffing pepper or it can be used as you would any sweet pepper. Plants produce a good amount of fruits that ripens from mid-season onwards. I real eye catcher for this multipurpose variety! Try them on a platter, mmmmm, delicious and pretty!

As a Caribbean man, I have many stories about this pepper that I can tell. Along with some scorpion types and Trinidad 7 Pot Yellow, this one is a favorite of the Caribbean people. In Trinidad, which is I am from originally, Caribbean Red pepper is one of our favorite peppers for cooking, hot sauces and more. There, it's just a very accessible and highly used variety. One of my favorite ways to use it is to sit it gently on top of any cooking meal and let its flavor seep in, without the pepper being torn or ripped open. Using this method, almost anything that you cook with this pepper turns out great! Heat is medium, flavor is delicious, aroma undeniable! Prolific plants produce all season long!
