    Perfect for Pickling, Sweet Pickle pepper exceeded all of our expectations in 2020. Compact plants of perhaps 2 feet tall, produced so many peppers that often they reminded me of a Christmas tree with decorations. When unripened, these can have a purple splotching, but they ripen to a bright red. Crisp and sweet, these are perfect for salads, canning, cooking and of course pickling. Would work well for market sales also. Get your canning jars ready, you'll have plenty uses for them!

    Indiana Red tomato is a very, very nice tasting oxheart. Clean and crack-free fruits weigh about 8-16 ounces and are borne on tall wispy leafed plants. Our fruits began to ripen about 78 days from transplant into the garden. These have excellent texture, well balanced taste that reminds me of the tomatoes or yesteryear. I will definitely be growing these again. Additionally, our plants showed really god disease resistance. Plants produced nicely and fruits were consistent in shape. If you love oxhearts, or old timey tasting tomatoes, try this one and make yourself some fine sauces and sandwiches! Few Seeds!

    Vechnyi Zov Tomato Vechnyi Zov is another excellent pink tomato that we grew in 2017. To be honest, this one surprised me. What I like most about it, is the tad bit of fruitiness that kicked in long after it was eaten. This is not a shy tomato--it tells you what it was made for. It is a sandwich specialist. Its vines are tall and excessively prolific. They seem to love the heat and never really got bothered by diseases. We had tomatoes until Fall.

    I am so excited to write about this tomato that I am all tingly inside. Cleota Pink tomato was one of our best 5 selections In 2017. Out of 200 varieties grown, Cleota Pink was one of the standouts! Extra large tomatoes, constantly cross 1.5 pounds and even produce plenty of 2 pound and bigger fruits. This big beauty is very meaty and balanced. I haven't really tasted a beefsteak quite like it. Vines are potato leaf and grow to about 6 feet tall in full sunlight. Fruits begin to ripen about 85 days after transplant and continue on until frost. Do with this beauty whatever you want! Please check out our 1-2 pound tomato category for more interesting varieties.
  • Flander's Contrast tomato is very unique in its looks. The green version of Blue Pear, this beauty is certainly a head-turner. Pear shaped fruits with antho tops, display varying levels of darkness. They begin to ripen about 72 days after transplant. Vines are about 6 feet tall and never stop producing until frosts. Fruits are mildly sweet, juicy and have a really good texture. Staking is essential because plants are relatively skinny.This is certainly a fine tomato for fresh salsa, garnishing, dehydrating, tomato juice and tons more. Try eating some straight off of the vine, very pleasing! Definitely worth growing!
  • Gordo De Patones Tomato

    If you are looking for consistently large fruits, try Gordo De Patones Tomato. These were very large in 2020. They averaged 1.5-2.5 pounds consistently! This is a very good BLT tomato! These plants produced plenty, for having such large fruits. Taste was a milder mix of tarts and sweets. Very good old fashioned flavor and nice texture too! Another one that showed good disease resistance. Plants, and sometimes fruits, need tons of support! A big tomato for a big tomato gardener!
  • Dark Stripe Sweetheart Tomato

    A beautifully bi-colored fruit, Dark Stripe Sweetheart tomato is packed with excellent flavor. This rich, sweet and complexed tasting fruit, is a great snacker! Our prolific potato leafed plants produced 4-6 ounce tomatoes that were a pleasure to see and eat. Vines were about 6 feet tall and produced bunches of 5-7. When fully ripened, these are purple with green striping. I also love it's aroma. Even thought Dark Stripe Sweetheart is on the smaller side, it is perfect for sandwiches. It would be a great choice for market sales, garnish, cooking and tons more. You can't go wrong with this one!

    Big White Pink Stripes continue to be one of my favorites! This unique fruit is produced on taller vines that are disease resistant. 1 pound fruits begin to ripen about 85 days after transplant. When well ripened, fruits have a very pale yellow color and are pink on the bottom end. Sweet,medium mild, meaty, aromatic and juicy. Stake vines well!
  • Orange Blue Tomato

    Orange Blue tomato is one of the best antho varieties that I have grown. I am not saying that lightly! Not only is it excessively beautiful, but, when well ripened, it's super sweet and delicious. I also noticed that it does not have that strong antho taste. Skinny vines produce plenty of  2-5  once fruits that begin to ripen about 75 days after transplant. These are perfectly juicy and aromatic. Works well for fresh salsa, garnishing, cooking, eating off the vine cooking and canning. Also was a hit at our local Farmers Market. Plants also remained disease free all season long!   • Tasmanian Chocolate dwarf tomato is a full flavored and beautiful fruit. They grow on plants that are about 3.5 feet tall. These will perform well in buckets or in the ground. Plants produce plenty, light chocolate colored fruits that can reach 12 ounces. Take a bite and you will discover a really juicy fruit that has a bit of earthiness to it. Plants quickly become top heavy so some staking may be necessary. You can expect your first ripened fruits around the 80 day mark. Try some of these in your garden and get ready for a bountiful harvest!
  • Dwarf Tasty Wine tomato is a deep pink tomato that is very tasty. Our rigs leaf vines were very vigorous and produce plenty (5-10 ounce) tomatoes that begin to ripen about 80 days after transplant. Fruits are right up the middle. They are neither too sweet or tart and very pleasing. An all around great tomato! good disease resistance! Great for larger containers!  
  • Red Robin Micro Dwarf Tomato

    Red Robin is a popular little micro dwarf variety that only grows to about 8 inches in height. It's early to ripen, coming in at only 70 days from the time it's up-potted. Plants are bonsai like, blooms early and produce a big crop of nickel to quarter sized flavorful and sweetish fruits. This tomato is full of juice and a true crowd pleaser. Kids love them! Try growing some in 3/4 to 1 gallon containers, or perhaps 3 plants in a two foot long planter. I have used both methods, they work great! Micro dwarf tomatoes can easily be grown indoors  under lights or in a sunny window. Try some, you will be amazed!!

    Buratino Tomato

    This variety is one of the toughest that I have ever grown. Very wispy vines produce prolifically and refuse to stop. In 2019 we had very bad weather and almost 3 weeks of nonstop rain. We lost hundreds of plants, but Buratino tomato just kept growing and producing. Eventually we harvested plenty. These are very flavorful and make nice canning and salad tomatoes too. Great for snacking! Very attractive and appealing fruits are well balanced with a little tang. Juicy and succulent, delicious. Early staking is recommended. Seventy two days to ripen from transplant.  These may do well in larger containers. A real treat!
  • Pepe's Gigante tomato is one of the most consistently large tomatoes that we have ever grown. All of the tomatoes were between 1.5 and 2.5 pounds. Even towards the end of the season, they were still more than one pound. This giant sized fruit bears on plants that are tall and lanky. They are meaty, balanced, sweet, and juicy. Plants ripen their fruits about 95 days after transplant. Stake well and often with regular revisions. These are perfect for sandwiches, sauces, market sales, cooking, and even salsa. Bring friends with you if you intend to eat them in the garden--you'll need help!

    85 Days. I am a huge tomato sauce maker and I love this tomato! It makes the most delicious deep brown, sweet sauce that is perfect on spaghetti. 3 to 4inch long, deep brown tomatoes, are late to ripen and early to the sauce-pan. They have few seeds and sweet flesh. Note: I have noticed that a few do get cracks, but it really doesn't matter because sauce is what I am after. They all go right in da pan!

A great sandwich tomato, this will also be good in nice yellow sauce, cooking, salsas and just eating off the vine. Vines are bushy and tall and would need good staking. Expect lots or nice beefsteaks from this heavy producer.  Good disease resistance!  Fruits can weigh as much as 1.5 pounds but the average for us is between 14 and 18 ounces! Fabulous market variety!     Dragon's Breath Pepper

    Dragon's Breath Pepper is a chili variety that is said to have measured 2.5 million Scoville units. Until recently it was said to be the world's second hottest pepper. In case this language is new to you, Scoville is a measure of heat in peppers. The higher the number, the hotter the pepper. So you can have a better idea of how hot this pepper is, the average jalapeño pepper is around 5,000 Scoville units. So now you know how hot Dragon's Breath is. But heat is hot toe only attribute of this variety. If you can handle the heat, you will find a lot of nice fruity undertones that works well when smoked, dehydrated or made into hot sauce.

Large, oblate, green fruits can reach more than one pound but average 12-16 ounces. This perfect sandwich variety is always very high on our list. Plants are tall and have potato leaves. Ours always display good disease resistance and produce until fall. Green Giant is a great producer too, bearing plenty clusters of 3 or 4 fruits that begin to ripen about 85 days after transplant.     Scotch Bonnet Yellow Pepper

    When I want pepper sauce for seasoning my meats, soups and most foods, I use Scotch Bonnet Peppers. For me, this variety makes the best, middle of the heat chain sauce. I also use it to temp down some of the hotter varieties. By combining them with varieties such as, Trinidad Scorpion, Ghosts and Carolina Reaper, my sauces are just right for seasoning or spreading over foods.  When making these hot sauces I mix 3 Scotch Bonetts to 1 super hot. That makes the heat and flavor perfect for me! Scotch Bonnets have a Scoville unit rating of 80,000 to 400,000. So they do pack some heat. On that same scale, Jalapeño have a score of 5,000, with Ghost peppers 1,041,427 and Carolina Reaper 1,641,000. So if you dont like super hot heat, this variety may be a good choice. Prolific plants.  Caution. If you are not used to chili peppers this one can be out of your league, so please be careful.
  • Dwarf Tennessee Suite is a purplish, 4-10 ounce fruits that have beautiful green stripes. This bi-color fruit begins to ripen in about 80 days from transplant. Plants are tree type and have rugose leaves. Oblate fruits have a sweet balanced and rich flavor .I have noticed that it's shape is not consistent, some are more oblate and others, more round. Nonetheless this is wonderful tomato! A great tomato for sandwiches, garnishing, salsa and eating fresh off the vine.
  • Aunt Ruby's German Green tomato isn't just one of the best green when ripened tomatoes, for me, it's one of the best tomatoes period. An all time classic, this large beefsteak will fulfill your every tomato desire. Vines are foliage dense and thick. Fruits weigh between 10 and 20 ounce. When fully ripened, Aunt Rubys German Green is greenish with pink blushes on the bottom end.

    Reinhard Kraft's Purple Sugar Tomato

    Reinhard Kraft's Purple Sugar Tomato was my winner for best tasting cherry in 2019. These things are packed with flavor! I especially loved its production too! Intense and tasty, wet and tart fruits were missing nothing. Similar in looks to Chocolate Cherry and Rosella and Black Cherry, this one, for me, beset them all for taste. Large bunches of about 10-15 fruits just kept coming all summer long. Plants are hardy and tall. If you like a forward tasting tomato that has everything.     Amish Paste Tomato

    If you have never made great tomato sauce, Amish Paste tomato will take care of that problem. There is NO way that your sauce could go wrong with these. They are in my top 5 sauce tomatoes of all time. Plants produce 3-5 ounce elongated fruits ripen bright red. There are many great sauce and paste tomatoes but this is one of the best!  It has the natural consistency for great tomato paste, also. Amish paste is sweet and fleshy and is also a great market, salsa, and cooking tomato. make some ketchup too! Vines are prolific and hardy. They require early and good staking.   • Brad's Atomic Grape tomato is, in my opinion, one of the best tasting antho varieties that there is. It has a good mixture of sweets and acids with very good balance. The perfect tomato for snacking in the garden  salads, dehydrating and tons more. It's also a very good candidate for market sales! About 2 inch elongated fruits are about one inch around. The perfect specimens have very dark, top antho, when well ripened are tri-colored black, orange and green. A truly pretty fruit!. Plants are hardy, about four feet tall and very productive. Expect first ripened fruits about 70 days after transplant.
