Porter Tomato was by far the heaviest producing tomat0 for us in 2021. As if that wasn't enough, they taste pretty good too! Ours were sweeter and not too mild with a full flavored finish. I must have harvested what seemed like a million fruits from just 3 plants. I would definitely recommend this tomato to newbie tomato growers. This is version is the Charles Herring strain. Plants were between 5 and 6 feet tall and just kept producing right through the season. One of the first to ripen and one of the last to remain. Eventually, I just stopped harvesting them, I just couldn't, lol. Perfect for salads, market, dehydrating, snacking, cooking. Nice multi-purposed variety. These may do well in larger containers also. You cant fail with these! -

There is so much I could say about this tomato. Upstate Oxheart is a very large, pretty, and satisfying tomato with very few seeds. True to the oxheart family, this variety knows not how to disappoint! Our biggest this year have been in the 2 pound range which obviously meant that we had to stake very well. Oxheart are noted for having skinny vines and can grow really tall. As far as taste, this tomato has sweet mellow meat and is moderately juicy. It is in the vein of Curtis Cheek. It is weighty, solid and perfect for sauces, fresh eating, sandwiches, paste, catsup, or perhaps anything you can imagine. A really good all around tomato that you MUST try! Hoy is one of my favorite selections for 2017. Hard working plants produce massive tomatoes that never stop coming until frost. Even the very last fruits in the Fall are HUGE. In 2017 we grew several 2 pounders, most were between 1.5 and 2 pounds. Fruits are sweet, excessively meaty, tasty and delicious. It's also very dense. If your mission it to grow huge, tasty tomatoes, Hoy is the way to go! Perfect for sandwiches! -
Ponderosa Purpurviolette Tomato
In 2018 I was gifted a package of hard to find and rare seeds. I grew out about 25 varieties. Ponderosa Purpurviolette Tomato is one of them. This fantastic taster with nice texture has really given me the drive to grow even more rare cultivars. It has a really good old-time tomato tart with a. nice blend of sweetness, excellent overall taste! Perfect sandwich tomato. Hardy plants produce plenty, but they are not prolific. I got about 13 fruits from one plant and 15 from the other three. So a total of 58 fruits from 4 plants. I'll take it! I forgot to take notes on leaf type, so forgive me. Indeterminate, 80 days! Italian Sweet Beefsteak Tomato is a pink, 1 one pound fruit. They are on the sweeter side. I have actually had these seeds since 1999. They were given to me by Italian friend when I lived in the Bronx NYC. She usually grew about 40 plants on the side of her house each year and I would always walk by and admire. Eventually we became friends and seeds were shared. In 2020 I went through my very large seed stash and found about 100 seeds sitting there. They were in very bad shape, because I hadn't messed with them for more than 15 years and in those days didn't really take great care of my seeds. I eventually decided to try them in 2021. Germination was 4 seeds out of about 50, with only three plants eventually making it. These have good old time flavor and perfect for sandwiches. Our plants are usually about 6 feet tall, vibrant and productive. No serious diseases have bothered this one. Fruits are generally crack or blemish free. Some ripened fruits have slightly yellow shoulders that doesn't affect the taste of the tomato at all. These have no hard cores. Just a nice all round tomato that is such a pleasure to grow! Definitely worth it! -
With great sadness and expectations for the future I am listing this awesome tomato. In 2021 we, the tomato growing community, lost one of our very best friends. Her name is Remy Rotella and she was an avid grower. Remy loved growing everything good, but among her biggest passions was tomatoes. I was fortunate to meet her on a few occasions at the Noblesville Indiana Seed Swapping event, for which she had traveled many hours from NY to attend here in Indiana. We had some conversations, but I often wished that I had talked to her some more. I remember swapping seeds with her and will hold those memories dear, always! Remy's favorite tomato was Stomp Of The World. So in 2021, a bunch of us, her friends and acquaintances in the tomato community, got together and decided to grow it in her memory. I wouldn't describe this tomato except to say that if Remy loved it, then it must have been a good one. I love it too! I am offering these seeds in remembrance of our friend Remy. Whetstone Wonder tomato is a huge, sweeter beefsteak that you will fall in love with. Tomatoes can easily reach 2 pounds. I was given these seeds by a family in Indiana USA who stated that it had been grown for years by a great aunt. The way the story was told to me, it seemed that Whetstone had been in that family for more than 75 years. I'm supposed to get more info in this one soon. Whetstone Wonder is also very meaty and aromatic when fully ripened. Plants need early staking with regular revisions. One slice will cover your sandwich bread twice over! Recommended! -
75 Days. Raspberry Vikrant is a determinate variety that produces heavily. Smooth 5 to 8 ounce fruits, ripen to a tender pinkish red. Fruits are clean and blemish free. This, along with its nice flavor, makes it a good candidate for market vendors. Fruits are mildly sweet, juicy, with a slight acidic under-tone. Good for container growing! -

Uncle E Tomato
Uncle E tomato seeds were given to me by my friend, Mrs. Holder. She explained to me that they had been in her family for over 100 years. I grew them out for the first time in 2008 and I have grown them every year since then. Huge beefsteaks that average 1 to 1.5 pounds of some of the most delicious tomatoes that you will ever taste. 6 foot vines produce plenty fruits that ripen around the 85 day mark and continue through frost. Lopatinskie tomato is a really nice beefsteak that is productive and consistent. Taste is sweetish and full flavored and kind of old fashion. Perfect for slicing and sandwiches. Plants are tall heavy producers and regular leafed. Ours did quite well with diseases. The came through the intense summer weather with flying colors. Stake these well as production is heavy. Get you bushel baskets ready plenty tomatoes are coming! -
Big Mack Tomato
If your aim is to have a perfectly sized sandwich tomato that can easily hold its own, you may want to try Big Mack tomato. Also known as Mac's Pride, this one is packed full of delicious texture, this one is definitely a keeper. 10-16 ounce fruits are borne on potato leafed plants that are productive and hardy. This heirloom is said to be over one hundred years old. Ripened fruits are a beautiful pink, with slightly yellowish shoulder, with appealing aroma and inviting appearance. Mc Murray #10 Tomato is a Dan McMurray selection grown out of F2's, this indeterminate potato leaved plants plants are productive. A wonderful slicer for sandwiches etc, that my friend says it reminds him bacon, lol. Not a very popular variety, fruits can reach more than one pound and begins to ripen around mid-season. CJ Russian is another new oxheart for us in 2021. I like these not only because of their good flavor but they proved to be a huge producer and very dependable variety for us. Plants were very prolific vibrant and hardy when some others were struggling. We got tons of these and I am grateful! Fruits are a pretty pink with little to no cracking, regardless of the weather. Taste is rich and mild. CJ Russian slices very nicely for sandwiches, plating etc. This tomato would shine as a sauce variety or even for canning when cut in halves or quarters. Great variety if you have a smaller garden and want bigger crops. -

Full flavored, old fashioned and complete is how I would describe Daniels tomato. Large fruits can weigh up to 2 pounds but are more often between 14 and 24 ounces. These have very good texture and are perfect for sandwiches. Potato leafed plants are about 5 feet or taller and produce plenty of smooth pink fruits. Absolutely one of my favorite tomatoes that was grown in 2021. Very productive and disease resistant vines produce about one pound beefsteaks all summer long. This variety is hard working and will be worth its keep in your garden. Fruits are deep pink when ripened have a full flavor with the old times feel. A great choice for farmers market, Evan Shewmaker tomato is a great choice for anyone who loves a big fruit with great flavor and production. 80 days from transplant. Stake well for best results! -
Happy Jack tomato is my favorite new oxheart. I am really impressed! Clean, pretty fruits are borne on very productive, wispy leaved vines with skinny stems. Biggest fruits were 8-12 ounces. These have to be staked properly! No cracking or splitting, with nice, nice flavor and texture. I didn't make anything with these but I did eat quite a few off the vine. This would definitely be a good sandwich tomato. Slices are thick and meaty. Taste is full flavored, well balanced but not strong. Texture is smooth. A realty good tomato experience! Norcarlina Pink Tomato was discovered in 1999 at a local farmers market and seeds shared. Some have said that it was a renamed variety but at this time there is uncertainty about that. This large pink beefsteak is a delight. It is mild and sweeter with pink flesh with tempting aroma. Texture is also very good and this one is medium firm when ripened. As far as production, that is very good also, making it a god choice for market vendors, which is where it was discovered in the first place. Plants are about 5-6 feet tall and vibrant. They begin to ripen their fruits about 80 days after being transplanted in their final growing spot. These are perfect sandwich companions with really awesome flavor! The next move is yours!! -
Clayton's Purple is a big, deep pink beefsteak that has fantastic flavor. Most fruits weigh between one and two pounds. Clean and crack-free, you would love these if you like them big and tasty. Its flavor is a bit like the old style tomatoes but not too much. It has a rich and complex finish that will please almost anyone who love that style of tomato. Plants are tall thick and robust. I made many sandwiches with these and truly miss them now that the season has ended. I will continue to grow these annually, whether or not I need seeds. One of my new favorites. About 82 days to first ripened fruits. -
Joe's Portuguese Tomato is a large pink tomato with outstanding flavor. Fruits are often around one pound, but often more and have very good aroma. Our regular leafed plants were bushy, around 6 feet tall and stayed healthy throughout the season. Fruits are one pound or more and a pretty pink when fully ripened. They slice very nicely for sandwiches. Good production and old timey solid tomato flavor makes this a good candidate for a main crop or market vendors. Medium firm when ripened. 80 days after transplant to your first ripened fruits. Nice find for us this year! -
Elgin Pink is a very, very good tomato. Seriously one of the best for us in 2021. In doing some research for this variety, I discovered that there are two leaf types, regular and potato. Our version is Potato leafed and produced large crops of some of the best tasting beefsteaks that were consistently about 14-16 ounces. Plants were very hard working and vigorous. These came on a bit late but were totally worth waiting for. I would definitely recommend these as a main crop for market, as I already know you will have big production and lots of return customers. Stake well and be ready for some really outstanding tomatoes that would make kick-butt sandwiches. Try these! -
Fred L Potato Top Tomato is a very good tomato. Tall potato leafed plants produce 1-1.5 pound and more beefsteaks with outstanding rich flavor. Original seeds were saved by Fred Limbaugh of from Robinson, P, his father and grandfather. These have some sweetness but with good balanced. Fred L reminds me, in some ways, of Pink Brandywine as far as taste. It's not quite as consistently large and texture certainly different. Our plants were hardy and demonstrated very good disease resistance. A great market crop, sandwich ready and very tasty. I really love this one! 80 Days. -

Anyone who has ever grown Kosovo tomato knows how very useful it is. True to what oxhearts do, this very tasty variety is a keeper for me from now on. Let's first talk about its production, Kosovo is second to none! Our plants produced fruits that were 6-16 ounces but averaging about 8. Wispy, regular leafed vines were always loaded even as I picked every other day. Each time I visited my plants they seemed untouched and never picked from. As far as taste, these were very good. They were full flavored and tasty. I made some very good sauce with these. I also made stew, fried green tomatoes, sandwiches and ate quite a few in the garden. Wonderful experiences all around! In a nutshell, Kosovo tomato is a multi-use tomato that is second to none! Totally worth growing. -
Blue Ridge Mountain Tomato
Blue Ridge Mountain tomato was a very nice find for us this year. Wonderful tasting, smooth, pink fruits weigh between 12 and 16 ounces. These are full flavored with good old fashioned taste. Potato leafed plants are prolific, grow to about 6 feet tall and demonstrated nice disease resistance for us. These are perfect beefsteaks tomatoes that would also do well in many different settings. On sandwiches they are great! Although I only ate them fresh and had sandwiches with them. I could see this variety being a very good cooking tomato. If you are a tomato addict, you will not regret growing these. Recommended! -
Flathead Monster Pink Tomato
I was surprised with the taste of Flathead Monster Pink tomato. Although I was expecting fruits above 2 pounds, most of mine were between 1-1.5. I was really happy that we decided to try this variety. Full flavored fruits begin to ripen about 85 days after transplant. This is a very, very good tomato. Regular leafed vines produce well, though not prolific. My three plants each produced between 10 and 14 fruits, with the later fruits being a bit smaller. I will definitely be growing these again.
