We have had so much fun growing Strelka's Arrow that I don't know if our garden can ever do without them! This sauce specialist is mild and sweet with very few seed cavities. It is mostly all meat. Strelka's Arrow's vines are determinant, excessively prolific, short, and sprawling. They are perhaps the most prolific sauce variety that I have ever grown. Vines are bushy and cluttered, so these need to be staked and bottom leaves trimmed. Our vines never had any diseases. We do spray with copper sulfate right after transplant and again after first fruit-set. If you have little space and need high yield, this would be a good choice for you. Firm fruits are perfect for drying and canning also. Does well as a keeper. -
I am so fond of Striped Roman tomato variety that I grow it as often as I could. It's a sauce maker and salsa specialist that can be used in many ways. These are perfect even when green. They make the best green pickled tomatoes And fit perfectly in jars. Striped Roman tomatoes are sweet, meaty and flavorful. They make fantastic tomato sauce, and are also perfect for salads, cooking, canning, fresh salsa and more. In fact for two consecutive years they won the best salsa contest at our local farmers market, by two different chefs. A bi-color, elongated fruit that is 2-3 inches long, they begin to ripen about 75 days after transplant. Vines show good disease resistance! -
One of the most beautiful anthos that I have grown, Stripes Of Yore tomato also has good flavor, without the antho usual taste that many of us dislike. Displaying pretty yellow with random black clutches/stripes, this one will turn heads in your garden! On the milder side with some fruitiness, this saladette tomato also serves well as a garnish and cooking tomato. Chefs love it, so that says a lot! Skinny plants can grow to 6 feet tall and produce plenty fruits. It's also a good choice for market sales. Ours started ripening about 78 days after transplant and continued until season's end. -
Another nice surprise for me in 2021. I absolutely paid this variety no attention and almost didn't have enough time to harvest them. When I was almost done harvesting everything else, Sue's Little Red Heart was there, waiting for me to pick and enjoy. Forward tasting, slightly heart/plum shaped fruits are the perfect garden snack. Free of cracks, I have no doubt that this tomato would make great sauce. It would most definitely be great for dehydrating for powder of flakes, where I feel its flavor will really sparkle. Our plants were about 5 feet tall and seemed to be a little later to ripen, even though I am not sure. Taste was very good! -
Summer Lightning Tomato
A sauce and paste type, Summer Lightning tomato is a rare variety. It is a high producer of 2-3 inch elongated fruits. A mid-season variety, this high producing gem fits perfectly if you like sweeter or low acidity sauces. These are nice tasting stand alone tomatoes. Also perfect for canning, cooking and fresh eating. Perfect for market sales because if its high production, taste and crack-free habit. I made some of the best tasting fresh salsa with Summer Lightning. Plants are tall, hardy and wispy leaved. Stake well and you will be rewarded. 75 days to ripen from transplant. Sungella tomato is a pingpong ball size cherry that ripens to a nice yellow-orange color. Other than its obvious beautiful exterior, this fruit is delicious also! Fruits grow in clusters of 5 on a 5 to 6 foot vine and ripen pretty early in the season. Vines like to sprawl, so stake well. Great selection for salads, snacking, drying, and culinary purposes. 70 to 75 Days. -
Sunrise Bumblebee has been on my best tasting list of cherries for a long time. These remind me of a tropical fruit. Shorter vines produce abundantly from early summer until frost. What's more, they have excellent disease resistance and refuse to be stopped. As a side note, the Bumblebee selection all work well as main crops, especially for vendors at the farmer's market. Perfect little cherry. 70 Days. -
Sweet Cranberry tomato is a little gem that everyone should grow. It is produced on vines that are determined to have huge crops despite rainy, hot, or cooler weather. It truly is a hard worker. Sweet Cranberry is sweet, but not too much so, and very balanced with a fruity after-taste. Mine have ripened at 65 to 70 days. -
Sweet Cream Tomato is one of my new favorites. It is just what its name says. Sweet, slightly fruity and juicy. This elongated variety can reach 3 inches but 2 inches is more normal. I especially love its wispy, prolific vines that begin to ripen their fruits around 70 days from transplant. Once that has started, expect a lot of fruits until frost. Disease resistance is also good with this variety. Fantastic variety for salads, snacking, garnishing, dehydrating, cooking and more. Perfect for market sales because there is little to no cracking. This tomato also reminds me of Blush, which is a fantastic tomato but tends to have cracking sometimes. All around a very good tomato! -
Earthy, sweetish, rich and tasty is how I would describe Sweet Tooth Tomato. Indeterminate, wispy leafed plants need early staking. Sweet Tooth is a good producer of 2.5 inch long fruits that are multipurpose. I used some for fresh salsa, dehydrating, salads, sauce and fresh eating. In each situation it preformed very well. I especially loved them on a plate, when sliced up with other varieties. Their colors, in and out, really came through then! Our plants showed good disease resistance all the way until season's end. Sweet tooth is also not a very seedy variety. I liked that too! -
Taiwan Goddess tomato is a very unique variety. It's the perfect salad and snacking variety! Skinny vines reach about 5 feet tall and produce bunches of about 10-15, plum shaped cherry tomatoes. Nothing else looks like it in the garden, so you will always know where they are. These keep very well after harvest, so no rush to use them. Flavor is sweet and full, nothing missing. Fruits are not seedy. Our first fruits began to ripen about 70 days after transplant. It takes about 1.5 weeks for the entire cluster to ripen. Crunchy, tasty and prolific too! These should do well in containers! -
Taste tomato is another winner by Fred Hempel of Artisan Seeds. Seriously, he is a top class breeder and I really respect that. I have grown mostly everything that he has created and they all have been excellent. Taste is a very beautiful red and yellow bicolor fruit that is elongated. It reminds me of Striped Roman, but with better overall taste. This is an excellent choice for any serious tomato grower. Vines are packed loaded with fruits and are also reasonably early. Our first ripened fruits came in around 65 days . Vines are aggressive producers. Try these for sauces, fresh eating, sliced in salads and drying. Great market choice too! See It On YouTube. -
Tel Aviv Train tomato was a new grow-out for us in 2018. Our plants produced small to medium sized cherries, that grow in medium to large clusters. These had nice texture and good fruity flavor. For us, this variety was one of the hardiest in the garden. They started producing early and ripened their first fruits around 72 days. Plants are about 5-6 feet tall. This is a good selection for canning, salads and snacking, especially in the garden! I also recommend these for sales at your tomato stand or farmer's market. A good choice for first time growers seeking an easy but rewarding experience! -
Tigerette Dwarf Tomato
Thinking that it was much shorter variety, I grow out 5 Tigerette Dwarf tomato plants in 2 gallon containers. They ware two and a half feet tall and needed bigger containers. I would advise 3-5 gallons if you are growing in containers. This beautiful fruit is a plump, red and yellow, slightly above average sized cherry. Taste is mildly sweet with overall mild taste. Dwarf plants have beautiful chartreuse foliage that serves as the perfect backdrop for their bright ripened fruits. Good production, but not prolific. Mid-season variety and perfect for indoor growing under lights. Canning, cooking, snacking, garnish and more! -
Tiny Tom micro dwarf tomato is a very worthy variety. I love this one a lot because it has a very nice flavor and it produces quite a lot of fruits. For us, vines grew to about 8-10 inches tall and produced plenty of nickel sized fruits which begin to blush around the 70 day mark. I also like this one because it's eager to produce a smaller second crop. Keep it fed and it will go a long way for you! Like most of our other micro dwarf varieties, these do well in 3/4 gallon containers. Some support may be needed as a prop for fruit heavy tops! -
Tlacolula Pink Tomato
Tlacolula Pink tomato plants are tall, and prolific producers of ruffled, bell-shaped tomatoes, that are about 2-4 ounces. Our plants showed good disease resistance and determination to produce in adverse conditions. Plants also like to spread so get ready for some continual tying up Stake early! These are perfect for sauces, garnish, cooking and fresh eating. Sweeter mild and pleasing with a medium-soft texture, it has a taste that can work well in any applications. Makes great salsa too! Expect your first ripened fruits around 75 days after transplant. A big hit at the farmers market! Try stuffing these with some flavored or Mexican rice, topped with cheese. Delicious! -
Trip L Crop Tomato is certainly a producer. Our plants produced so many, I thought they would never stop. 3-4 ounce fruits are sweetish with good tomato flavor and plenty character. Plants are tall, perhaps 6-7 feet, bushy and vibrant. This is certainly an all purpose variety and can easily be a main market crop. If you are seeking a huge producer with good flavor, plant these, then prepare yourself with a big basket. -
Triumph Tomato
Pretty 3-4 ounce fruits are fire-truck red when ripened. Triumph tomato is a determinate variety that produces excessively. Early ripening, these are perfect for salads, canning, fresh eating, cooking and more. So truly, it's an all purpose variety. Great selection for market sales. Mild, slightly acidic and forward taste. I enjoyed making fresh tomato salsa with these. Onions, jalapeños, cilantro, limes, salt and black pepper and tomatoes, of course. A very nice and rare find for us in 2019, Tschechische Gelbe tomato was one of my personal favorites. Large sized cherry tomatoes have a medium-firm feel with lots of juiciness and wonderful aroma when fully ripened. These are sweeter and fruity, but must ripen well for the full experience. Plants are about 6 feet tall and produce plenty. Ours showed wonderful resistance to early blight. Great for snacking, canning, garnish, cooking and so much more. Try this rare and wonderful variety, you too may get hooked! -
Tumbling Tom Yellow tomato is a basket variety that can also be grown in pots and staked. This variety has a red sister which we hope to carry in the future. Tom produces some of the most delicious cherries that just melts in your mouth. Fruits are fruity, juicy and sweet. These are perfect for snacking on. You may try them for making delicious jams and jellies but they really shine in salads. This is definitely one of the best basket cherry varieties! 72 days to ripen. -
Ukranian Red Cherry tomato is one of the most prolific tomatoes that I have grown. They just keep coming, and coming, until they wear me out! They are a little bit larger than the average size cherry, but perfect still, for popping in your mouth on a hot summer's day. These have a balanced old-fashioned taste with sweeter tendencies. A good salad and snacking tomato. 70 to 75 Days. -
I can remember every place in our gardens that I have planted Umberto tomato over the years. And, the one thing that remains constant, is that they do exceptionally well no matter where they are. Tall vines produce pretty clusters of 5 to 7 light-pink tomatoes with really good flavor. They are delicious! Expect your first ripened fruits about 70 to 75 days after transplant. A great selection for market sales. -
One of the things I like about Ussuri Tiger tomato is that it has a good niche. This is a mild and juicy fruit that has a fruity aftertaste. At the farmers market, some of our customers loved it because it was not strong, but still delicious. Ussuri Tiger is an antho tomato that sports nice dark stripes over pale yellows. Our first ripened fruits were relatively early, coming in around 70-72 days. Plants were very prolific and hardy. Some of ours were still producing a lot at September's end! These are great for snacking, garnishing, salsa, cooking, canning and so much more! Very good market variety! -
Van Wert Ohio Tomato
A very useful and delicious variety, Van Wert Ohio tomato is a heavy producer of mid sized red and blemished free fruits. The plants seemed to have held on to every bloom and began to ripen about 75 days after being transplant into the garden. What I really loved about this variety was its disease resistance. It was one of the very best this year. Taste is old fashion, balanced and very pleasing. A very nice all purpose variety for situations such as cooking, sandwiches, slicing, market sales and even sauces. Check these out and try a few plants in your next garden! 5-7 ounces -
Venus Micro Dwarf Tomato
Venus micro dwarf tomato is a very beautiful and tasty fruit that grows on a 5 inch plant. In some ways it reminds me about Pinocchio Orange (Pinokkio Oranzhevyj). It's sweet and juicy with a little tartness too. Very good for snacking and salads! Available From January 25th 2018 -
Vilma mico dwarf tomato is one of my favorite micros. Eight inch plants produce nickel-sized, deep red cherry cherries that are fruity, sweeter and rich. Overall, Vilma is a very balanced tomato that kids would love. Plants produce clusters of 5-7 fruits that begin to ripen in about 65 days after transplant. 1/2 to 1 gallon containers work excellently for this wonderful little gem! -
White Currant is without a doubt the hardiest and the most stubborn tomato I have ever grown! It is so prolific and hardy that you will never be able to get rid of it in your garden. Plant it once, and it will always reappear. Dime sized, sweet, earthy fruits are light yellow and have a soft texture. They are not good candidates for market sales but perfect for snacking in the garden. Busy vines like sprawling everywhere and would rather not be staked. 70 Days.
