Large Barred Boar is a tomato that we have consistently grown over the last 6 years. This is so because it's a great go-to tomato. It works well for many situations and continue to be one of our favorites for taking to the Farmers' Market. Medium sized bi-color fruits can reach 10 ounces but average about 8. They are mildly sweet, rich and delicious. Slice them for salads, sandwiches or try some dark sauce and you should be amply pleased. Vines are about 4-5 feet tall and productive. 75 days to ripen!

Large American Flag Leek
Large Flag American Leek is is noted for its large leaves and stems. Here in the USA, this variety is really cold tolerant and does well in zones 2-11. It has a light/mild onion flavor that works well in cuisines. I have used in soups, salads, seasonings. It's perfect when seasoning meats and fish. It's also commonly called Scotch Flag leek. 15-18 inches tall and non-bulbing. -
Lambert's General Grant Tomato
One of my favorite tomatoes all season long, Lambert's General Grant tomato really knocked it out of the park! The plants were tall, but that could be because they had a few hours less sunshine than most of the garden this year. Plants were 6-7 feet tall but produced like crazy. Fruits were a delicious mix of sweets, tarts and good old richness! I highly recommend this one. One of my favorite things about Lambert's General Grant is it's disease resistance. Excellent! Ripened fruits were a nice mid to deep pink and averaged 8-18 ounces. A perfect sandwich tomato, but really a good all purpose type. -
Lacinato Kale.
Lacinato Kale is a delicious, hardy variety that is used by home cooks and professional chefs all round the world. Along with being very easy to grow, these can do well even in hotter environments. Strutting dark green, bluish leaves that are long and narrow, these can begin to be harvested for salads etc, as early as one month after transplant. For bigger harvest over a longer period, grow them out to maturity. Taste is semi sweet and even sweeter after a light freeze. Cold tolerant and can survive winter weather, even here in Indiana. -
La Vie En Rose Tomato
La Vie En Rose tomato is one of the most productive, large fruits that I have ever grown. 1 pound fruits are sweet, flavorful and satisfying. Plants are very hard workers and produce prolifically, considering fruit size. I was gifted seeds for these by my friend, Terry at Secret Seed Cartel. Here is her quote. "This tomato is the result of a naturally occurring cross between Claude Brown’s Yellow Giant x unknown pink in the SSC garden. It produced a pink variant and a yellow sister named Moonshiner’s Ball". Our plants were about five to six feet tall and produced 10-20 ounce tomatoes that were prettiest that we grew in 2019. Our first fruits ripened around day 86. Get ready to fill your baskets with lots and lots of big pink tasty tomatoes. Stake well and early for best results. These would make great eye-catchers at your farm stand or market! -
Krupnya Grozd Tomato
Krupnya Grozd tomato is a 10-14 ounce, red oxheart with deep flavor and nice texture! They have wispy vines that would need early staking. Production is good to excellent! When fully ripened, these are are so beautiful that you will always have your eyes on them. Ripening to a nice red, Krupnya Grozd has nice thick, semi-firm flesh and awesome aroma too. Taste is sweeter with little acidity but complete. Perfect selection for oxheart lovers. Good market and sandwich tomato. Will also do well for cooking, sauce and canning. I truly like its balanced taste. Will definitely stay in my grow-list from now on! 80 days. -
Kozula 72 Tomato
We have grown quite a few varieties in the Kozula series. Only a very few have made it to our seed store. Kozula 72 tomato is, to this point, one of my personal favorites. Good producing, regular leafed plants, give plenty, though not prolific. Bi-colored fruits are green with purple blushing when fully ripened. These are rich tasting, fruity and sweeter with good balance. Good choice for plating, snacking, sandwiches and even cooking. This tomato reminds me a bit of Ananas Noire. Will definitely be making regular returns to our lineup. -
Kozula 136 Tomato
Kozula 136 tomato is always one of the first that comes to my mind when I recall the 2020 season. These took me totally by surprise! Very prolific plants produce up to 20 ounce fruits. These are clean, mostly crack free and a pleasure to grow. When fully ripened, they are the most beautiful bi-color shades of orange and yellows. A real treat for the eyes. But it's their production which is truly the treat. These just keep producing and producing all the way until frost. Perfect variety for plating, garnishing, excellent market choice, sandwich treat and so much more! Flavor profile is sweet and fruity with little tartness! Our plants were about 5.5 feet tall. I love this one and you will too! -
Curious, we wanted to try Kuzula 133 tomato in 2018. The result was a very pretty tomato with nice taste. this one wasn't only pretty, but prolific too. They did take a little longer to ripen than I expected, coming in at 80 days, but the wait was worth it. Fruits had good flavor but were on the milder side. There was a very pleasing after-taste that worked well fo me. I also enjoyed it's aroma when fully ripened and sliced. Plants do need early staking because they are skinny and gets easily toppled. These may also work well in larger containers and in full sun. Try em!

Kuzula 132 tomato was a first time grow-out for us in 2018. I found that it was a great snacking, fresh salsa, garnish, canning and cooking tomato. It leans to the milder side with some small hints of sugars and acidity in its aftertaste. Vines are prolific and never really budged for diseases. They began to ripen their fruits around 72 days after we transplanted them in the garden. Beautiful bi-color fruits were plum shaped and about 2 inches long. All in all it is a good tomato for quite a few things. I snacked on these a lot while I was in the garden, especially on hot days. They were quite refreshing! See Kozula 133.

Out of stockAnyone who has ever grown Kosovo tomato knows how very useful it is. True to what oxhearts do, this very tasty variety is a keeper for me from now on. Let's first talk about its production, Kosovo is second to none! Our plants produced fruits that were 6-16 ounces but averaging about 8. Wispy, regular leafed vines were always loaded even as I picked every other day. Each time I visited my plants they seemed untouched and never picked from. As far as taste, these were very good. They were full flavored and tasty. I made some very good sauce with these. I also made stew, fried green tomatoes, sandwiches and ate quite a few in the garden. Wonderful experiences all around! In a nutshell, Kosovo tomato is a multi-use tomato that is second to none! Totally worth growing.

75 Days. Korean Long is another of our sauce specialist tomatoes. 3 inch long tomatoes with long nipples on the bottom end, are beautiful things to see. Sweet, mild and flavorful, Korean Long tomato is quite possibly everything you need for your sauces and salsa. Vines are tall and ripen their soft pink fruits after 75 days. Once they start ripening, you will have tomatoes until frost. Whether you decide to make some of the best spaghetti sauce or slice them for your delicious salads, you could never go wrong with these!

Kolb Tomato
When I first saw images of Kolb tomato, I thought that they were highly photoshopped. Upon growing them myself, I discovered that they looked just like the pictures. These are some of the prettiest pink tomatoes that I have ever grown. Additionally, they are really good tasting. Large, oblate fruits, are around one pound and often bigger, mildly sweet and well balanced! Really pleasurable experience in a big tomato. Six feet tall plants are good producers too! These are great sandwich tomatoes and can easily be a main crop for market vendors. I really like that they are clean and mostly blemish-free. These wouldn't be mistaken for anything else in your garden, very clean and unique pink. Perfect all purpose variety, but stands out on a tomato sandwich with its old fashioned taste. Get ready for some beauties! -
Kiwi Tomato
If you like green when ripened tomatoes as much as I do, or if you have never had one, here is one for you! Kiwi tomato deserves a place in every tomato garden. This 6-10 ounce fruit is sweeter, pleasant and fruity, but not over the top. Texture is on medium firm, smooth and desirable. When fully ripened, they are a nice lime green on the inside and yellowish green on the outside. If this is your first time growing a green variety, check them well after about 75 days. Feel would be the best way to fist determine ripeness. After your first few, you should more easily be able to identify ripened ones by sight. This in is in the realm of Malakhitovaya Shkatulka. Plants have good resistance to early and late blights. A beautiful choice for sandwiches, fresh salsa and tasty green tomato sauce. -
75 - 80 Days. Kitayskiy Velikan Tomato is a large beefsteak type that packs great taste. Tall, prolific vines are packed with many fruits that ripen about 78 days after transplant. it is excessively prolific for a large variety. It's not unusual to to have vines with everything over 1 pound. Our largest have been around one pound and fourteen ounces. Fruits are meaty, sweeter, aromatic and well balanced. Truly a nice all-purpose tomato. Recommended!

Kiss The Sky Tomato
In 2020 we grew about 120 new varieties, not as many as pervious years. But in my opinion, we selected some excellent varieties. Kiss The Sky tomato is one of those! Large cherries grow on tall vines of 6 feet or more. Other than its outstanding flavor, this variety is a massive producer of brownish purple fruits that are outstandingly sweet, rich and earthy. A very desirable tomato! Its heavy production and blemish-free fruits make it a perfect choice for market vendors. I am so happy that I grew these out! I used these tomatoes for some of the best tomato jam. Grow these, you won't regret it! -
If your desire is to have fine slicing variety, King tomato will fill that space. Perfectly balanced, this juicy slicing tomato is loved by everyone at our farm. Fruits average 10-16 ounces but some can reach 1.5 lbs. We have had many! Displaying good disease resistance, King vines are vibrant and sprawling . They produce plenty of deep pink fruits that begin to ripen about 80 days after transplant. This variety is perfect for market sales because they almost always blemish-free and beautiful fruits. Stake early, perhaps at time of transplant. When they begin to ripen, try eating some in the garden. You will always go back for more!

A delightful oxheart is how I would describe King Kong tomato. Pretty, red oxheart fruits are borne on wispy leaved plants that can reach 6 feet tall. Fruits are on the sweet side, have tons of meat, a bit fruity, have old fashioned appeal and are clean with few cracks. Our vines were prolific, producing many bunches of 5-7 fruits that averaged 4-12 ounces. Plants kept producing all season long! In fact, they were some of the last do wither! This a great sandwich and sauce tomato. Also good for market sales if you are a tomato vendor. Eat many off the vine, Yumm!

First, I had to learn how to spell it. LOL. I kept trying because the thing was really good. I had many of these and Textwine right in the garden on hot days. They totally did the job of quenching and filling me. Khlebosolyne Tomato should be in your garden if you like them big and delicious. It has big heirloom old fashioned flavor. the aroma is what kept me slicing them. What a wonderful aroma when well ripened. This variety is juicy, sweet and tart with some other complimentary flavors. Nice texture too! Vibrant and hardy vines. About 80 days.

Kentucky Beefheart tomato is a flavorful variety with full flavor. This a a great sauce tomato. It will also do well as a paste tomato, for cooking stews etc. Not too many seeds and plenty of giving flesh that sauce makers would love!! Our plants were hardy and showed good disease resistance.

Kenneth's Piennolo Tomato
There's a lot that I can say about Kenneth's Piennolo tomato. For one, skinny potato leafed plants are very hardy. Another thing is that these start ripening relatively early in the season. Continuing on, these have very good, sweet flavor and make great garden snacks. Perhaps the most outstanding quality of this variety is that it has exceptional shelf life. Here's my story. I hadn't realized that I left some of these in a plastic shopping bag on the south side of my house. About 6 weeks later when I was doing some cleaning, I discovered the bag and opened it up. Every tomato was in excellent shape! This, to me, took this tomato from a good tomato to an excellent variety for storing, especially after the season has ended. It makes great sauce and is even great when dehydrated. Cooking, salsas and more will all benefit from Kenneth's Piennolo. Give these a try.!! -
Kellogg's Breakfast Tomato
Like its potato leaf sister KBX tomato, Kellogg's Breakfast tomato just as good. Slightly less productive than KBX, Kellogg's Breakfast is still the more popular of the two. This is a perfect main crop selection for market sales or bulk growing. Vines are hard working and are bound to produce for you. Fruits are about 16 to 24 ounces, meaty and good. They lean towards the sweet side but is more balanced than you would expect from a yellow tomato. Expect ripened fruits around the 85 day mark. Sandwich ready! -
KBX Tomato
85 Days. KBX tomato is the potato leaf version of Kellogg's Breakfast. These two tomatoes are similar, except that I have found them to be a bit more prolific than the regular leafed version! KBX tomato is meaty, big and sweet. It is a great selection as a main crop for tomato vendors. Plants are about 6 feet tall and produce high quantities of deep yellow, (sixteen to twenty four ounce) fruits, that can really be used for many things. One of the the best for sandwiches. My favorite sweet variety of 2021, Karmen sweet pepper was a real hit with everyone here. Perfectly sized fruits grew on 2.5-3 feet tall plants and ripened a little later in the season. I found that the wait was totally worth it. A very prolific variety, these were so sweet and and fruity, that I was taken by surprise. Needless to say, I ate many in the garden. Crunchy, thick fleshed and has a multiplicity of uses. Cut these up for your fresh salads, have them as a stand-alone snack, use them in your cooking or for plating. Nice rich red color when fully ripened. You'd love these!

KARMA Purple Tomato
If you are seeking a purple, larger cherry variety with superb taste, try KARMA Purple Tomato. With this one you will find superb taste, good production, hardy plants that are early producing and also good for northern gardens. There is truly no downside to KARMA purple. Breeder Karen Olivier of Canada and Marsha Eisenberg of Florida collaborated on this and others in the KARMA series. Purple is rich, juicy and sweet with nice aroma when fully ripened. Its slightly different from it's sister, KARMA Purple Multiflora, which produces slightly smaller and earlier fruits that are just as good. All in the series are potato leafed. You couldn't go wrong with any variety in the KARMA series!
