They make the best green pickled tomatoes And fit perfectly in jars. Striped Roman tomatoes are sweet, meaty and flavorful. They make fantastic tomato sauce, and are also perfect for salads, cooking, canning, fresh salsa and more. In fact for two consecutive years they won the best salsa contest at our local farmers market, by two different chefs. A bi-color, elongated fruit that is 2-3 inches long, they begin to ripen about 75 days after transplant. Vines show good disease resistance!
