Description
Yellow Fire Tomato
Yellow Fire tomato was certainly a nice visual surprise for us in 2018. It also had good flavor. It made fantastic tomato sauce. Even more surprising, was the size of the fruits. Some of them were almost 4 inches long and had nice diameter too! They were definitely head turners and sold very well at our farmers market. Similar to Fuego Rosa in size and habit, this tomato will light up your spaghetti. It cooks down into some sweeter, yellowish sauce that naturally has great flavor. Good snacker and canner too! Plants are tall! We harvested our first ripened fruits about 78 days after transplant. Stake well and get ready!

We grew Yellow Fire for the the first time this year and it’s awesome. I’m completely growing it again next year. The tomatoes are large, meaty and taste good. And it’s producing like crazy. This weekend we picked 16 off our single Yellow Fire plant and this isn’t the first picking. There are more getting ready to ripen, too. We sauce all our tomatoes except the ones my daughter eats fresh and these make great sauce. If you use just this variety, the sauce looks yellow-orange. That’s fine with me but my mom likes red sauce, so we add a couple of red tomatoes to it and it comes out looking completely red. It tastes really good either way.
