    Uncle E Tomato

    Uncle E tomato seeds were given to me by my friend, Mrs. Holder. She explained to me that they had been in her family for over 100 years. I grew them out for the first time in 2008 and I have grown them every year since then. Huge beefsteaks that average 1 to 1.5 pounds of some of the most delicious tomatoes that you will ever taste. 6 foot vines produce plenty fruits that ripen around the 85 day mark and continue through frost.   • Uncle Mark Bagby tomato is a large, red beefsteak, who's vines like to sprawl. When well ripened, they are softish to the touch and aromatic without even being sliced. They are excellent but tend to have a shorter shelf life. So, eat quickly! There are few beefsteaks that can compare to this one and I highly recommend it. 85 days to ripen. Stake well.
  • Upstate Oxheart Tomato

    There is so much I could say about this tomato. Upstate Oxheart is a very large, pretty, and satisfying tomato with very few seeds. True to the oxheart family, this variety knows not how to disappoint! Our biggest this year have been in the 2 pound range which obviously meant that we had to stake very well. Oxheart are noted for having skinny vines and can grow really tall. As far as taste, this tomato has sweet mellow meat and is moderately juicy. It is in the vein of Curtis Cheek. It is weighty, solid and perfect for sauces, fresh eating, sandwiches, paste, catsup, or perhaps anything you can imagine. A really good all around tomato that you MUST try!   • Valentina Doohova tomato is easily one of the best red oxhearts that we have grown. This super clean tomato is also very pretty. Reminiscent of Mayo's Delight, this cutie is pack full of flavor and ready for a sandwich. Bright red fruits are aromatic and a  perfect balance of sweet, acids, juice and flesh. Plants are wispy leafed and produce large crops of 6-12 ounce fruits that, when fully ripened, will blow you away! We harvest our first ripened ones around 75 days after transplant.     Van Wert Ohio Tomato

    A very useful and delicious variety, Van Wert Ohio tomato is a heavy producer of mid sized red and blemished free fruits. The plants seemed to have held on to every bloom and began to ripen about 75 days after being transplant into the garden. What I really loved about this variety was its disease resistance. It was one of the very best this year. Taste is old fashion, balanced and very pleasing. A very nice all purpose variety for situations such as cooking, sandwiches, slicing, market sales and even sauces. Check these out and try a few plants in your next garden! 5-7 ounces
  • Varsovia Tomato

    Varsovia is a dark purple tomato that originates in Poland. Seeds were given to my friend Terry at Secret Seed Cartel in France, she then shared some with me. I grew them out in 2021. This variety has tremendous appeal and is a very beautiful fruit when fully ripened. You'll definitely be able to differentiate between other purples/blacks because it's one of the darkest fruits. Plants produce plentifully and fruits begin ripening around mid-season. Very eye pleasing variety that has a rich, earthy taste that is complete. Try these, you'll love them.  
  • Vechnyi Zov Tomato

    Vechnyi Zov Tomato Vechnyi Zov is another excellent pink tomato that we grew in 2017. To be honest, this one surprised me. What I like most about it, is the tad bit of fruitiness that kicked in long after it was eaten. This is not a shy tomato--it tells you what it was made for. It is a sandwich specialist. Its vines are tall and excessively prolific. They seem to love the heat and never really got bothered by diseases. We had tomatoes until Fall.
  • I was introduced to Velmahoza Magnate tomato about 5 years ago and I totally loved them. Somehow I forgot to grow them out again until 2018.  This tomato reminds me a lot of Curtis Cheek tomato in looks, but has a totally different flavor and texture. Plants are wispy, as most oxhearts are. They grow to about 5 feet tall and produce pretty pink oxhearts. Our biggest fruits this year were about 14 ounces, but I would say that they average about 8-10 ounces. Ours always stand up well to early blight. Thick, smooth and sweeter meat that's made for sandwiches and sauces. Recommended!

    One of our best selling varieties of all time, Virginia Sweets tomato is a winner! Like most red and yellow bi-color fruits, this one too, is  sweet. It also has plenty of nice, fruity meat, which has great texture. Fruits average around the 1 pound mark, though some get larger! Vines are prolific and have good disease resistance. Virginia Sweets is the perfect main- crop variety. You can expect your first ripened fruits around the 80 day mark.

  • West Virginia Penitentiary Tomato

    A true old fashioned heirloom, West Virginia Penitentiary tomato dates back to the 1940s -50's. It's is said to have been grown by prisoners in the State, then sold to local markets. This red tomato has a nice balanced taste of sweets and tarts and makes a wonderful tomato sandwich. Plants were about 6 feet tall and produced plenty of 8-14 ounce fruits. I especially appreciated its resistance to early and late blight. These hardy plants were still producing green tomatoes in October. On October 7th I pulled all of my plants and got plenty of greens from these to make pickles. Truly a blessing, especially for the heirloom enthusiast!
  • West Virginia Sweetmeat Tomato

    West Virginia Sweetmeat tomato is an Amish variety that can easily reach 2.5 pounds. In fact, about 10% of earlier fruits reached and surpassed that mark. A few were 3 pounds or more! Healthy, regular leafed plants, are hard working and produce quite nicely, though not prolific. Production was very pleasing and nonstop until season's end. The flavor is sweet, very rich and delicious. Texture was also very good. Plants MUST be staked properly, with some extra support for individual fruits where needed. Expect your first ripened fruit out 80 days after transplant. A great choice for sandwiches and so much more! If you love them huge with good flavor, this one's for you!  
  • Whetstone Wonder tomato is a huge, sweeter beefsteak that you will fall in love with. Tomatoes can easily reach 2 pounds. I was given these seeds by a family in Indiana USA who stated that it had been grown for years by a great aunt. The way the story was told to me, it seemed that Whetstone had been in that family for more than 75 years. I'm supposed to get more info in this one soon. Whetstone Wonder is also very meaty and aromatic when fully ripened. Plants need early staking with regular revisions. One slice will cover your sandwich bread twice over! Recommended!

    White Oxheart Tomato

    One of the whitest tomatoes that we have grown, it lives up to the oxheart family name. White Oxheart tomato is a 6 to 10 ounce fruit that is milder, sweet and delicious. It's a great candidate for tomato sandwiches and a sweet white tomato sauce. Skinny vines produce a good amount of fruits, but need to be staked early. Vines have also demonstrated good disease resistance for us. You can expect fruits all the way until frosts. These sell very well for me at the Farmers' Market too.   • White Queen Tomato

    If your aim is to grow a high producing, white variety with mildly sweet, fruity flavor, then here it is!. White Queen tomato is a very pretty, blemish-free fruit that weighs about 3-6 ounces. These are also a bit early to ripen, but not the earliest. Ours produced their first ripened fruits about 70 days from transplant. White Queen may not be what you consider a sauce specialist, but it makes some darn good sauce. I also love its aroma and usability in different situations. It's imperative to stake these regular leafed plants.  You would like these, especially for production!
  • Looking for a very delicious dwarf variety that grows nice sized fruits? Willa's Cariboo Rose Dwarf tomato will get the job done. This beautiful beefsteak grows on tree-like plants that produce plenty, considering the size of tomatoes they produce. Our plants have shown good disease resistance, especially to early blight. Tomatoes are meaty, balanced, rich and tasty. They veer slightly on the milder side but not too much. Expect your first ripened fruits about 80 days after transplant. From that point, indeterminate plants continue producing until season's end. Some staking is necessary as plants topple with the big fruits they bear.     90 Days. Williams Striped tomato is among the biggest bi-color varieties that we grow. Sweet and meaty beefsteak fruits can reach 2 pounds. Plants are vigorous, hardy and always perform excellently for us even through hotter months. Stake well, with regular revisions. Fruits grow quickly and super large.     Another workhorse on the farm in 2019, I wish that we had discovered these a long time ago. Do you want a nice sandwich? Try a Winsall tomato. Excellent texture, aroma and as a slicer. Ours displayed good disease resistance and had fantastic production.  A very balanced tasting variety, fruits are not too sweet or tart or sweet. Ours averaged about 1 pound, with many being around 12 ounces. Perfect blend of complimentary flavors too. The is a very good tomato that I am definitely growing again. Solid, solid tomato! 85 days!
  • Wisconsin 55 Tomato

    Wisconsin 55 Tomato

    One of the sturdiest producers that we grew in 2019, Wisconsin 55 tomato will be a repeat grow for sure. Clean, juicy fruits are not mushy, rather they have very nice texture. These are great for tomato juice, salads canning and more. A good all purpose tomato. I love cooking with them, they make really good stew. This is a hard-working variety that will do well in heat or wet conditions, workhorse! Crack resistant, with high disease resistance. Try some!
  • 90 Days. Wonder Of The World is a large beefsteak that grows on sturdy 5 feet tall plants. Huge oblate fruits are a bit late to ripen but it's totally worth the wait. These pink beauties can easily reach 2 pounds. Most of ours have been around 1.5. It's a sweet variety with lots of meat and juice. This is another one that I am fond of.
  • Another good yellow beefsteak, Yellow Brandywine Tomato is really an all purpose, main crop variety. Totally different from Pink or Red Brandywine, this tomato is rich and delicious. Plants have huge potato leaves and are very sturdy bases. They can reach six feet tall. Fruits are a little bit late, beginning to ripen 90 days after transplant. Your wait will totally be worth it, though!
  • Yoder's German Yellow Tomato

    Yoder's German Yellow tomato is perhaps the best yellow tomato that we have grown in many years. It certainly was a standout for us in 2017. A very good producer. This workhorse will produce up to 24 ounce tomatoes all season long. It is not bothered by extreme heat. Tomatoes begin to ripen about 85 days after transplant. It is sweet, rich, meaty, and balanced. Perfect for sandwiches! See it on YouTube!
  • Yukon Quest is a very nice slicing dwarf tomato that grows on 3 feet tree-like plants. Fruits grows in bunches of 3-5 and are about the size of a tennis ball. They are sweeter with a tinge of acidity and very juicy. These are perfect for containers. When growing in containers, I usually use 5 gallon containers and have great success. Our plants were sprayed with Coper Sulfate and stood up well to diseases. Fruits begin to ripen about 75 days after transplant. Some staking may be necessary.
  • Zolotoi Vek Tomato

    Zolotoi Vek tomato is a very sweet yellow with beautiful outer glow. Regular leafed plants are about 6 feet tall and high producing for such large fruits. Ours produced up to one pound fruits. This is a very worthy slicer that will work perfect for sandwiches.  It stayed strong even during heavy rains, deep humidity and intense lengthy periods of heat. Our plants still have their tops and a few blooms, even in mid October. If you want a nice yellow for your sandwiches, try these!
