• Blue Keyes Tomato

    $2.50$3.50
I grew Blue Keyes tomato for the first time in 2018 and it's going to be on my list again for 2019. This time I will be taking them to the market. Tiny antho, cherry fruits, are so uniquely colored that they always turn heads. In addition, they are perfect little pear shaped things. Bottom ends are a mix of green, orange and some antho striping that is like a work of art. Blue Keyes taste good too! They are somewhat earthy, acidic with sweet undertones and on the mild side. These are perfect for canning, dehydrating, salads, garnish, fresh salsa and more. But the way I enjoy them best is right off the vine on a cool morning. These will also grow well in larger containers. Try a 4-5 gallon size or larger! Go for it!
  • Blue Sun Tomato

    $2.25$3.25
Blue Sun tomato is another new antho variety that we have introduced in 2018. Smaller sized slicing tomatoes are a lovely lime green when fully ripened and sliced. On its exterior, fruits have some nice antho on the top side and a beautiful like green on its bottom end. Juicy and milder with some sweetness, Blue Sun has a very pleasing after-taste that is a bit difficult for me to describe. Indeterminate plants were prolific and hardy. From season's start to end, our plants had no issues. our first ripened fruits appeared around 75 days after transplant. From that point they kept coming!
  • Brandywine Purple tomato, is a one pound tomato that can easily get bigger. Meaty and flavorful beefsteaks are perfect for slicing and sandwiches. But they will make some fantastic, fresh salsa also. Fruits are sweetish, firmer and have excellent balance, with a little fruitiness. I love the aroma of these when fully ripened! Fruits do not have a lot of seeds so grow a few extra plants if you are a seed saver! It will be well worth it! Plants produce a good amount of fruits that take about 85 days to ripen. Good disease resistance, tall vines so stake well. Produces until season's end. A Must Grow!
  • Brimmer Tomato

    $2.50$3.50
The more I think about Brimmer tomato, the more I appreciate good sandwich tomatoes. I'd be honest!  I am a huge tomato sandwich eater, but I also enjoy experiencing tomatoes in so many other ways during the season. So when it comes to tomato sandwiches, each year I look for the best that I possibly can. I also revert some other varieties that I loved from previous years. Brimmer will easily make this list. Sandwiches with these were super good and I filled myself to the brim each time. Nice texture, size and old-time tomato flavor. These are sandwich perfect. Try them!
  • Brutus Magnum Tomato

    $2.50$3.50
In 2018 we did not grow many gigantic varieties. Of the ones we did grow(about 8 or so), Brutus Magnum was perhaps the most consistently large. Fruits averaged between 1.5 - 2.3 lbs. At times we really struggle with vine upkeep. A few tomatoes became too heavy for their plants and broke themselves off. That was offset by good production, so we still got plenty fruits from just 4 plants. Brutus Magnum is a clean variety. Most tomatoes did not have cracks. Very meaty and evenly balanced taste. This one need early, consistent and proper staking! Great sandwich tomato!  88 Days!
  • Each year when I grow dwarf  tomatoes, I look for varieties that are good producers of nice sized fruits. Bubble Gum Dwarf tomato is one of them. One of the prettiest pink tomatoes that you would  find, Bubble Gum is not a fancy type. It's just a simple, clean pink slicer with great flavor. Indeterminate plants are "tree type" and produce all season long through frost. This is also a great variety for container growing. I suggest 4 gallon or larger containers. Our plants began to ripen their fruits around the 72 days after transplant. 4-8 ounce fruits have very good balance. They are sweeter but not overly so. There is also a slight tinge of acidity. Great sandwich tomato. Ours have kept very well after harvest. See It on YouTube
  • Buffalo Soldier Tomato

    $2.50$3.50
My description of Buffalo Soldier Tomato would be that it's a very good representation of what a black tomato should taste like. 6-14 ounce fruits grow on 5 foot or taller vines that has shown good disease resistance in our gardens. Clusters of 3-5 begin to ripen about 80 days after transplant and continue until frost. As far as taste, these are sweetish, earthy, juicy with good texture. Its fast is no overwhelming it's just right. I like these especially eaten fresh and on sandwiches. Based on it's exterior feel and good taste, I also suspect that it will be good market variety also, but I didn't take any to my market. Definitely one to consider!
  • Burgundy Okra

    $1.00$2.25
One of the prettiest okras that you will find, Burgundy Okra plants produce dark purple, 6 inch long fruits. Burgundy plants can be quite tall. I really love this variety's nutty taste and have eaten many raw, right off the plant. It is best to harvest these within a week of appearing on the plant. Perfect for frying or anything okra.
  • Carbon Tomato

    $2.50$3.50
Some people say that Carbon tomato is perhaps the best black tomato there is. I say, it's pretty close. Certainly, it's one to be reckoned with! It's not often that I am blown away by the taste of a tomato. Carbon had that effect on me. Before I forget, let me say that some of the best sandwiches that I have had were with these. Carbon is a full flavored tomato that is rich, balanced and excessively good. Our plants were about 5 feet tall in full sunlight. They produced plenty 8-12 ounce fruits that are delightful. A MUST GROW for any garden!
  • Caro Rich Tomato

    $2.50$3.50
I was very pleased with Caro Rich tomato in 2018. Our 3.5 feet tall, determinate plants produce prolifically. Fruits were between 4 and 6 ounces and loaded with richness and fruitiness. It isn't a sweeter variety. Ours were mildly sweet, had good balanced and satisfying! Some were fruit-like! What I liked also, is that they had decent keep after harvest. Plants should still be staked. These are perfect for slicing, snacking, canning and even mild yellow tomato sauce. They will also work well if you are a market vendor or have a tomato stand. I will definitely be growing these again in 2019 and beyond! See it on Youtube!
  • Chibikko Micro Dwarf tomato is perhaps the most beautiful of all the micro varieties, when well ripened. One of the taller varieties, Chibikko plants can reach 16 inches tall. Your plants to be loaded with nickel to quarter sized fruits. Chibikko is extremely tasty. It has a great blend of sweet and tang, with perfect complimentary flavors that results in a very tasty tomato. Fruits begin to ripen about 60 days after transplant.
  • Chisai Cherry Tomato

    $2.00$3.75
If you are in search of a very delicious, red cherry tomato, Chisai Cherry tomato would be the one. I first grew this gem out in 2014 and didn't really know what I was about to experience. After accidentally breaking the vine almost down to the base, it bounce back a few weeks later and produced more tomatoes than any other cherry variety in my garden. Chisai Cherry has an old fashioned, full flavored taste. It's sweet and tangy too, with plenty juice. this is the perfect salad and snacking tomato. Delicious, early and prolific. Perfect for kids and great for containers too!
  • Copia Tomato

    $2.50$3.50
Copia tomato is a beautifully bi-colored fruit that will turn heads very time. When it comes to taste, it's also worth growing in any garden. For us, plants showed really good disease resistance, staying healthy to produce perhaps the biggest crop of any variety in on the farm in 2028. Fruits ripen to the most gorgeous yellow and red bi-colored conglomeration, with yellow being the dominant color. When sliced, heart-warming marblings will excite your taste buds. Vines can be tall but ours were around 5.5 feet in full sun. Copia is lightly fruity, sweeter, has a nice amount of juice and delicious. Perfect for slicing, sandwiches, garnish, cooking and more. Give these a try!
  • Cosmic Eclipse Tomato

    $2.50$3.50
Cosmic Eclipse tomato is an average to larger sized cherry variety.  It's also in the antho family. I wasn't sure what I would get when I grew these out, but I was game! Our vines produced prolifically and never really stopped until the weather got cooler at nights. Plants also showed good disease resistance, especially to early and late blight. Cosmic Eclipse is great for canning, salads, fresh eating, garnishing and so much more. It truly is an all purposed variety. Our market sales did well with these also. It's taste was also good for an antho. Will grow again! See it on YouTube!
  • Cow’s Tit Tomato

    $2.50$3.50
In 2018 one of our missions was to grow more varieties that were specific to certain applications. Cow's Tit tomato is one of them. If you are in search of varieties that will make great sauce and paste, this is one. I made some fantastic sauce with it! It also did excellently in fresh salsa and is equally tasty as a stand alone tomato. 2-3 inch elongated fruits are born on wispy leaved vines that produce prolifically! Ours started ripening around the 75th day after transplanting and kept up until late season. Also a great choice for canning, dehydrating and more!
  • Creme Brûlée Tomato

    $2.50$3.50
Creme Brûlée tomato is a great example of the qualities of most black tomatoes. It's one that I would recommend if someone to someone who has never tasted a dark variety. It's similar in taste to Grandma Oliver's Chocolate and Chyornyi Tarasenko. Most of all it has it's own delicious characteristics. Creme Brûlée is not a large fruit (perhaps 6-8 ounces) but it has large flavor.  5 foot tall plants begin to ripen fruits around 75 days after transplant. We had no disease issues with these in 2018. Plants produce plenty of pretty fruits. Cracking wasn't an issue for us with these. A great choice for any tomato garden! See it on YouTube
  • Dark Tiger Tomato

    $2.50$3.50
Dark Tiger tomato is a visually appealing, antho variety. I especially like it because if it's good flavor, which is very low on the "antho taste". These are meaty, sweet, earthy and have nice balance too. I could see these doing well in containers. Fruits are pretty have turned lots of heads in our garden. Expect first ripened fruits about 75 days after transplant. This is a good choice for salads, fresh eating, garnishing, cooking, fresh salsa and even market sales. Fruits are medium-firm. Planting in full sun can definitely enhance the colors of your fruits. Certainly worth growing!!
  • Delta Dwarf Tomato

    $2.50$3.50
I grew Delta Dwarf tomato for the first time in 2018 and it took me by surprise. For one thing, my plants did not look anything like I thought they would. They were very vibrant and sprawling. They never crossed 4 feet tall, but were very bushy! When they started ripening and I started snacking, I had another surprise. Bi-colored fruits were very tasty, with great balance and perfect for snacking. Their interiors, when fully ripened, were marbled and very aromatic. Plants kept producing all season long. They were about the last to show any signs of fading in our garden. Delta Dwarf is certainly one that I will grow each year. These are perfect for snacking, delicious fresh salsa, dehydrating, cooking, garnishing and more.  Try them!
  • Demidov Dwarf Tomato

    $2.25$3.00
In 2018 we grew Demidov Dwarf tomato for the first time, and were pleased with it's growing habit and taste. Personally, I wasn't sure if it had a special purpose, or if it was just a general purpose tomato. So I put it to the test. As it turns out, it worked well for sauces and sandwiches. Also, it was a very good snacking tomato. Demidov is a blunt heart that has a sweetish taste but veers towards the mild side. Ours cooked down into some really thick, flavorful sauce, without any additions. When it was seasoned, WOW!  Short plants are like trees. Production is good. Grow these in containers too!
  • If beauty, taste and production is what you love in your tomatoes, then Desdemona's Heart tomato might satisfy tour desires. Similar to Orange Russian 117, this oxheart variety is certainly worth growing. vines produce plenty 4-10 ounce beefsteaks that are mostly yellow inside, with some pink/red marbling. Fruits are sweet, meaty, have great texture and some underlying fruitiness. You can expect your first ripened tomatoes around the 80 day mark. Proper staking can certainly help. Perfect variety for sandwiches, sauces, market sales, fresh eating, cooking and garnishing. Truthfully, you can do anything with Desdemona's Heart! Vines have shown good disease resistance in our gardens.
  • Donskoi Tomato

    $2.50$3.50
Donskoi tomato is a very large beefsteak that could create your record breaking fruits. Our largest were well over two pounds and smallest about 1.5 pounds. But we did not grow it for size only. It was recommend to us because of its taste. I did like it a lot!  Donskoi is meaty, balanced, flavorful and surprisingly good for its large size. I never got around to making sandwiches with these, but there is no doubt they will shine in this application. Plants demonstrated good disease resistance and ripened their fruits around 87 days after transplant. A great choice if you love them large and delicious! See It On YouTube.
  • One of the most prolific and delicious tomatoes that we grew in 2018, Dwarf Andy's Forty tomato belongs in every tomato garden. Plants are about 3 feet tall and just keep pumping them out all season long. I also found that these were very disease resistant. Ours didn't not get early or late blight. Bi-color fruits are about 4-8 ounces. They bear in bunches of about 4-5 and begin to ripen about 75 days after transplant. Andy's Forty tomato is flavorful, mild and rich. It has very good texture and nice aroma when fully ripened. Overall a delicious tomato! A nice selection for garnish, cooking, snacking and so much more. Great for container growing or smaller gardens wanting good production. See It On YouTube.
  • Dwarf Awesome Tomato

    $2.25$3.25
Dwarf Awesome tomato is now one of my favorite dwarf varieties. 3 feet tall plants have rugose leaves and bear 6-16 ounce fruits that are as flavorful as you will ever get them. Fruits are sweet, fruity, rich, smooth and delicious. Plants are hardy too. Ours never showed any signs of diseases, even in a difficult year. What's more, plants went on to produce until frosts. This is a great tomato for just snacking straight from the garden, sandwiches, garnishing and more. They should do well in containers also, because plants are compact and hardy. Try some, you'll love them!
  • Here is another good flavored, dwarf cherry. Dwarf Barossa Moon tomato is canary yellow and slightly larger than the average size cherry tomato. When fully ripened they are sweet, not too mild and flavorful. These are perfect for snacking in the garden, salads, dehydrating and more. Just pop one in your mouth and experience a burst of fruitiness. I love these because they are relatively crack-free and begin to ripen pretty early. Ours came in around 70 days after transplant. Plants continued producing until season's end. Dwarf plants are around 2 feet tall and produce clusters of 5 -7 fruits, under thick foliage. Perfect for in-ground and container growing!
  • Get your salad bowl ready! Dwarf Bendigo Blush tomato is going to be perfect for salads! Smaller, plum shaped fruits ripen to a pretty pink. They bear in clusters of 5-7 and start ripening about 70 days after transplant in your garden. Plants have rugose leaves and reach about 2-2.5 feet tall. They produce plenty fruits for their short size. Fruits are plump and firm. They are sweet, juicy and sort of fruity with a little tang. Dwarf Bendigo Blush is perfect for container growing. I will be grown some indoors under T5 lights, this Fall. Great for snacking and more! See Dwarf Bendigo Dawn too!
  • In 2018 I grew about 50 varieties of dwarf tomatoes. Dwarf Bendigo Dawn tomato was one that I really enjoyed. Sweet, pink, plum shaped tomatoes, were mostly yellowish on their top ends. The blending of the two colors create a really interesting look. Fruits are sweet. For us much more so that Dwarf Bendigo Blush. Juice is rich, tasty and flavorful! These are great for snacking, salads, dehydrating, salsa and so much more. Plants produce plenty but they are not super prolific. I had about 2.5 quarts, over an extended period, from one plant. Great for container or in-ground growing.
  • Whether you have grown dwarf varieties before or not,  you will appreciate them when you grow out Dwarf Black Angus Tomato. This very tasty variety did well for us in our 2018 grow-outs. 2.5 feet tall, indeterminate rugose leafed plants, produced 6-8 ounce tomatoes that had very nice flavor and texture. Plants have dense foliage, so it can sometimes be difficult to see fruits. Without hurting the suckers, we pruned some of the bottom leaves to better see fruits. That worked well! Our fruits reminded me of Black Krim, but with a firmer texture. Very good sandwich tomato and more! Expect first ripened fruits about 75 days after transplant.
