Dwarf Mahogany is another one that I first grew in buckets and later moved to the farm. I was totally pleased with both methods. This very unique, dark burgundy/brown tomato brings to mind intensity. It has exceptionally good flavor to the point where its a stand-out. A perfect selection for salsas, sauces, drying, fresh eating, garnishing, and sandwiches. In essence, this is a great tomato for almost any application. Vines ripen their fruits almost 80 days after transplant and you can expect tomatoes from that point until season's end. Be sure to stake well and check back often. Once they start ripening, they're persistent. A great selection to add a splash of color and encourage repeat customers at the market. -
A high producing variety, Dwarf Maura's Cardinal tomato is truly a treat in any garden. Ours were exceptionally prolific! Oblate, Cardinal red fruits, are very pretty and weigh about 4-6 ounces. These are unmistakable in appearance. This summer our gardens were lit up with a very beautiful but different shade of red. Plants are about 3 feet tall and have nice resistance to early blight. Fruits are very well balanced, sweet but not too much with some zing. These deliver a very nice tomato experience Texture is excellent. Great for slicing, snacking, garnish, market sales, cooking and more!! As a Dwarf variety, it most likely would perform well in larger containers and small garden spaces, too -
Dwarf Mint Streak Tomato
Beautiful green and yellow bi-color fruits is what you will get when you grow Dwarf Mint Streak Tomato. That's not all though! You will also experience mildly sweet and juicy variety that will suck you in. Our plants were about 2.5 feet tall and were vibrant and prolific. They started ripening their fruits about 72 days after transplant. No diseases were experienced with these! Perfect for snacking, plating, cooking, market sales and so much more. Dwarf Moliagul Moon Tomato
Dwarf Moliagul Moon tomato was one of my favorites in 2019. Three feet tall plants produce plenty 2-4 ounce fruits that had sweet rich flavor with some fruitiness and nice texture. Plants were prolific until season's end. These are perfect for large container growing or in the ground. Great too, if you have a small garden spot and want high production and good taste. Moliagul Moon is a good choice for snacking, garnish, preserves(jams, jellies) etc. Side Note: Most dwarf varieties will do well in smaller gardens. -
Dwarf Noah Stripes tomato is a wonderful bi-colored fruit with rich complex flavor. This tomato reminds me of Girl Girl's Weird Thing tomato but on a dwarf plant. Our tree-like plants were no taller than 3.5 feet, had rugose leaves and they were very productive. Definitely one of the hardiest varieties that we grew in 2021. These will do good in larger containers of perhaps 4-5 gallons and with regular feeding and watering. Will have to be staked because of heavy production. Nice little slicer that's definitely worth growing! -
Dwarf Numbat Tomato
Dwarf Numbat Tomato was a nice little find for us in 2020. Short plants produced heavy crops of large cherries that were great for canning, snacking and even slicing. Taste for us was mild and tart and tasty. Our plants were about 2-2.5 feet tall and started ripening fruits about 70 days after transplant. A beautiful marbling of greens and yellows, Numbat will work well in small garden spaces as well as in containers. -
Dwarf Parfait Tomato
I love growing dwarf tomatoes because they always surprise me. After growing them for quit a few years, I still cant get over how much they can produce produce and how large some of the tomatoes can be. Dwarf Parfait tomato, is a beautiful and larger variety that, when ripened, is green on the outside and yellow on the inside. This combination makes for an interesting contrast that will turn any head! Three feet tall plants, produce 6-12 ounce fruits that have a deep, rich taste. Texture is superb and aroma is very inviting. Our plants displayed excellent disease resistance, making these even more attractive to me. Parfait is a later variety but your wait wouldn't be in vain. Perfect for sandwiches, slicing, garnish and more! Dwarf varieties are perfect for smaller gardens! Recommended! -
Dwarf Perfect Harmony Tomato
If you are looking for a dependable dwarf variety to grow in ground or in a container, try Dwarf Perfect Harmony tomato. This variety is very hard working and determined to produce. My 3 feet tall plants produced about 6 ounce, canary yellow tomatoes. Plants were always loaded and withstood diseases very well. Perfect Harmony's taste is sweet, not too mild with a hint of acidity. This is a nicely balanced tomato. It has a straight forward tomato taste with no complexities. You'd enjoy this one! -
Dwarf Purple Heartthrob Tomato
Beautifully heart shaped tomatoes with very distinct stripes of purple. Dwarf Purple Heartthrob tomato is a keeper for us. 3 feet tall, rugose leafed plants produced plenty of 4-10 ounce fruits that are very eye-catching. In 2021, these always turned heads in our garden. Taste is forward and excellent, with some complexity to its overall flavor. I love these. Easily among one of the most interesting dwarfs that we have grown. Should do well in larger containers. Limited seed supply! -
Dwarf Radinilee tomato has always been a huge hit for us here are Renaissance Farms. This tomato is etched in my memory, I love its color, flavor, taste, size and growing habit. Short plants are about 3.5 feet tall and produce a bountiful harvest of purple and green bi-color fruits that can be as big as 10 ounces. When sliced, there is also a beautiful marbling of green and pinks. Taste is rich, sweeter and juicy. Will do excellently in bigger containers! Stake them well! -
Dwarf Round Robin Tomato
Just when you thought that you've seen it all, here comes Dwarf Round Robin tomato! This real cutie is also very tasty. Round Robin has some of the same colorings of Dwarf Audrey's Love. Both are beautiful! Plants are short, perfect for container growing and early. Ours started ripening fruits about 72 days from transplant. No signs of diseases were ever seen on these! Taste is sweet and fruity, very rich taste on these! Tree-like plants are about 2.5 feet tall and will keep pumping them out for you! Try these!! -
Don't be surprised if you decide to grow this beautiful tomato every year. Dwarf Russian Swirl tomato comes highly recommended by ME! I first tried these out in the winter of 2015, growing them in buckets and under light. They did so well that I once again tried it on the farm that summer. It was a smash it once more. Dwarf Russian Swirl vines are about 4 feet tall and bear some of the prettiest slicers that you would ever see. They begin to ripen about 75 days after transplant and continue all the way till frost. Fruits are fruity, sweet, juicy and delicious. Let them ripen well and you will be blessed with a beautiful treat! Dwarf Saucy Mary tomato is a really unique, tasty and pretty tomato that I recommend for anyone growing dwarf varieties. If your aim is to make some tasty, green tomato sauce, give it a try. Elongated, green and yellow, bi-colored fruits measure about two inches long. They are born on determinate plants. Prolific plants are tree-like and grow to about 2.5 feet tall. Fruits begin to ripen about 75 days after transplant. Sweetish, not too juicy and medium mild, these have nice flavor and would definitely perk up your dish. Also nice for garnishing, pickling, canning, cooking and more. Good for container growing too! -
Easily one of my favorite dwarf varieties in 2018, Dwarf Shadow Boxing tomato thrilled me from start to finish. I really loved the foliage on these babies. Plants produced 2 inch long plum shaped fruits were a bit late to ripen. When they finally started to turn, the most beautiful tri-colored antho fruits emerged. They were firm and plump with a good, sweet and balanced taste. I Made some really great salsa with them. These will work great for garnishing, cooking, dehydrating, canning and more. The best part of all, is that plants are prolific and indeterminate, so you will have plenty tomatoes until the end of the growing season. Must grow these! -
Dwarf Speckled Heart Tomato
A high producer, you will be very pleased with Dwarf Speckled Heart tomato. Short 3 feet tall plants have regular and rugose leaves. They produce perfectly heart shaped, red and yellowish 3-6 ounce fruits. These need to be staked or tied up because plants get very heavy with fruits. Taste is on the sweet but milder side with good texture. Very beautiful head turners that would work well in containers, with care. 70 days to first ripened fruits. -
Another of my favorites in 2018, Dwarf Striped Antho tomato kept my attention all season long. Short plants suitable for growing in containers also, produced round and slightly oblate fruits, that displayed nice antho on their top side. On the blossom end they were a beautiful red and yellowish striping. That combination certainly lit up our garden. Our plants were about 2-2.5 feet tall, had rugose, regular leaves, but not thick foliage. These started ripening around 72 days from transplant and continued until season's end. Dwarf Striped Antho is perfect for snacking, canning, garnish, market sales and so much more. Fruits are mildly sweet and fruity, with some beautiful earthy undertones. -
Dwarf Surender's Indian Curry Tomato
Dwarf Surender's Indian Curry tomato is a high producing determinate variety that is perfect for canning, cooking, juicing, fresh salsa. 2 feet tall plants start ripening their fruits around 70 days after transplant. Fruits are about 2 inches in diameter and slightly flattened. Taste is mildly acidic. It is a great variety for container or tight-spaced garden growing. -
Dwarf Suzy's Beauty Tomato
You will be hard-pressed to find a more beautiful fruit when sliced, than Dwarf Suzy's Beauty tomato. Big bi-colored fruits, can reach 14 ounces but average 10. They have plenty of exterior appeal too! Other than looks, these are very tasty, with rich, thick juice that drips from your fingers. Plenty fruitiness and sweets are also very evident. This is a very good tomato! Dwarf plants are 3 feet tall and produce a lot for such large variety. Ours started ripening about 75 days after transplant. These may do well in 5 gallon containers or bigger. Perfect if you have a small garden space but wanting big fruits and production! Recommended! -
Dwarf Whereokowhai Tomato
One of my favorites for 2020 Dwarf Whereokowhai tomato was really surprising and satisfying. 2.5-3 feet tall plants, these produced so many fruits that I was eating every time I walked by the plants. Fruits were sweet and fruity with plenty richness. When sliced, Whereokowhai is a sight to behold! A beautiful marbling of yellows and pinks will really turn your head. Hardy, tree-like plants. 75-80 days from transplant.Good choice for container of small space growing! -
I received some Egg Yolk tomato seeds in a seed swap in 2018. Truthfully, I only grew them out because I had some extra space. It turned out to be a great decision! Tall vines produced sweetish, juicy and flavorful cherries and were very prolific all season long. I especially liked that they were crack-free. This is absolutely a snacking and salad tomato, that may work well as a main crop variety for market sales etc. May I also suggest slicing some and dehydrating them, so yummy! There is also potential here for container growing, but some staking will be necessary. Egg Yolk is also early ripening, coming in at 70 days after transplant. Definitely worth growing! -
Elser Farm's Brown Derby Tomato
One of the most uniquely colored varieties I have ever grown, Elser Farm's Brown Derby Tomato is a sight to behold. Large fruits can approach 12-16 ounces. Ours averaged 8-12. One of the things that I love about this variety is its aroma. I could smell the sliced fruits from a distance away. Taste is rich and earthy, with some sweetness. Texture was good too. Honestly, in 2020 I only had these off the vine. I loved them that way. But I could totally see them being a hit on sandwiches and also on a platter. So beautiful, so good! -
Eva Purple Ball Tomato has long been one of my most reliable varieties. I thought I had them listed before but I didn't so I grew them out again in 2021 and here they are. If you are seeking a hard working, great tasting little slicer, I promise you, this is a good place to start. Additionally, its regular leafed vines are really disease resistant. That is also a draw for me. They are similar to Arkansas traveler as it pertains to reliability and size. These would make great sandwich tomatoes, excellent for market sales, awesome snacks and so much more. Really a solid choice for a dependable variety. If you haven't grown these, I recommend them -
One of the prettiest pear tomatoes that we grow, Evans Purple Pear tomato is stunning, With good taste. Ripening to a deep purple color with greenish shoulders, this beauty is a head turner. It's rich and mild wth very complexed and earthy flavors. I love this tomato! It's perfect for salsa, snacking, garnishing and drying. Great for market sales too. Plants are radiant and prolific! -
Everett's Rusty Oxheart Tomato
Easily one of the prettiest varieties that we grew in 2020, Everett's Rusty Oxheart tomato did very well for us! When fully ripened, rust colored, bi-colored fruits, are blushed with green and yellowish colors. You just have to see this for yourself. The real treat is when they are sliced. No matter how you slice them the results are the same. You will experience some of the most intense tomato colors. Even better, they are very tasty, fruity and sweet with a little tang. Everett's actually tastes more like a tropical fruit. Our indeterminate plants were prolific and produced blunt, to perfect hearts. What a treat! Give these a try!! -
Evil Olive Tomato
I really got a surprise when my Evil Olive tomato plants started ripening their fruits. Even as an experienced grower, their exterior colors when fully ripened were stunning and surprising to me. But that's not all! I got an even bigger surprise when I cut them open. Beautiful shades of orange, greens and lime suddenly revealed themselves. Evil Olive plants have a darkish tint to their foliage and produce plenty regular sized cherry tomatoes. Fruit color is dark green with a nice shade of orange on blossom end, when ripened. Taste is nice with a little tang. Great fresh salsa tomato! Also nice for snacking, canning, garnish. Good disease resistance. 75 days after transplant. -
Fat Frog Micro Dwarf Tomato
I'll get straight to the point! Fat Frog micro dwarf tomato is really good. Ripening green, with mildly sweet flavor and some mild fruity undertones, this micro gem is a recommended grow. Plants are between 10 and 14 inches tall with thick stems and by micro standards, produce some of the largest fruits. These grow nicely in 6 inch-1 gallon pots. I did not see any difference in plant size or production using either of these sizes. Production is good but not prolific. It's definitely worth adding to your micro dwarf tomato collection. After years of growing it out, I still cannot get over this tomato. Favorite de Bretagne is unique through and through. 2-3 inch long fruits pack excellent, rich, fruity and sweet flavors that are breath taking. Prolific, determinate plants that hate to drop blooms are very beautiful! They grow no taller than 2.5 feet and are sprawled. These are perfect for containers or in the ground and can be grown without stakes. Good disease resistance. Also perfect for sauce, salsas, garnishing, chefs, cooking drying and eating right off the vine. Grow some plants for the farmers market. Get ready to eat plenty! Big hit!
