Some, such as Curtis Cheek, Eugenia, Upstate Oxheart and Slankards, can easily exceed one pound. Others may be a beautiful mix of wonderful colors, like Sgt Peppers and Orange Russian 117. Another thing that remains true, is that most oxhearts have very fine taste and great texture.

    Welcome to Renaissance Farms special strain of Goatbag tomato. Originally selected form smaller fruits, we have worked about 14 years, by intentionally selecting the absolute biggest fruits for saving seeds. The result is a fruit that is now consistently more than doubled it's original size but with the same huge flavor. We first got our original seeds from an old farmer at our local Farmers' Market. He promised a great tasting tomato and he was correct. Since then, all that we have done is select for size. Great taste! Perfect for sauces, sandwiches, cooking, paste and more! A must have!

    Midnight Sun Tomato

    Just when you thought you saw it all, Karen Olivier has produced a line of potato leafed oxhearts that will totally blow your mind. There are NO  oxhearts, especially potato leafed varieties, that are as beautiful as hers! Midnight Sun tomato is a 5, to perhaps 10 ounce oxheart, that are produced on wispy, potato leafed plants. These, as all of Karen's varieties were bred in Canada, and are all suitable for northern gardens! Plants grew taller than 6 feet and always looked healthy. Staking was absolutely necessary from the very beginning because these are truly wispy vines! Taste is superb and delightful when fully ripened. This one has a rich finish, while having a full tomato experience. I would totally recommend these to chefs, or anyone wanting to plate some very beautiful colors.     Sgt Pepper's Tomato

    Sgt Pepper's tomato is a member of the antho family. Plants produce the most beautiful oxhearts that are literally black on the top and deep red on the bottom end. The amount of anthology can vary depending on the level of exposure and time of year. Sgt Pepper's tomato vines are very skinny with wispy leaves.  They can be as tall as 6 feet. Plants produce a high quantity of 3-6 ounce fruits that begin to ripen about 80 days after transplant. Proper staking is required!  It is a sweet tomato with a hint of earthiness. There is plenty of meat too! These are perfect for fresh eating, garnishing, cooking, drying and a necessity for market sales. Its beauty and taste make it quite qualified to be in my future gardens.
  • The most beautiful of bi-color fruits, no other oxheart tomato has the presence of Orange Russian 117 tomato. it's not just beautiful looker, though. Orange Russian is a good tasting tomato. It's medium-mild, slightly fruity and sweetish. Overall it has a very pleasant finish. I have grown this one for about 10 years and have always ben pleased. Fruits average about 8 ounces but many can reach close to the one pound range. Harty, skinny vines begin to ripen fruits about 85 ays after transplant. Good for sandwiches, sweet sauce, garnishing and sweeter sewed tomatoes. Great at Farmers' market! Watch out!!
  • Upstate Oxheart Tomato

    There is so much I could say about this tomato. Upstate Oxheart is a very large, pretty, and satisfying tomato with very few seeds. True to the oxheart family, this variety knows not how to disappoint! Our biggest this year have been in the 2 pound range which obviously meant that we had to stake very well. Oxheart are noted for having skinny vines and can grow really tall. As far as taste, this tomato has sweet mellow meat and is moderately juicy. It is in the vein of Curtis Cheek. It is weighty, solid and perfect for sauces, fresh eating, sandwiches, paste, catsup, or perhaps anything you can imagine. A really good all around tomato that you MUST try!   • Bread And Salt Tomato

    Limited Supply... 1 pack per order only! Bread and Salt has gained tons of recognition in the last few years. This is because of its unique name, but mostly because it is a great tomato. True to the oxheart family, this tomato is perfect for almost anything. Vines have wispy leaves and skinny bases so stake well. Bread and sale is meaty, sweeter, dense and mild, but not too much so. A sandwich lover's dream! 80 days to ripen!
  • Dwarf Purple Heart Tomato

    Some of the most beautiful tomatoes that you would ever see, Dwarf Purple Heart tomato is a very exciting and tasty variety. True to the oxheart family, Dwarf Purple Heart plants have wispy leaves and skinny vines. they produce perfect hart shaped, deep brown/purple tomatoes that have olive shoulders. Fruits ripen about 85 days after transplant.
  • True Colors Tomato


    True Colors Tomato

    Again, another fascinating bi-colored oxheart from Karen Olivier. Like Midnight Sun, True Colors will blow you away with its taste and beauty. It's almost ironic that this variety is called True Colors when its colors almost seem unreal. Then on the other hand, perhaps that's exactly what Karen planned. These wispy, potato leafed plants, produced 8-14 ounce oxhearts that were always beautiful. Vines were skinny and lanky and would need early staking. Plants produced plenty, though not prolific. I was certainly pleased with production. These were bred by  in Canada by Karen and will be suitable for northern gardens. When fully ripened, these are sweeter, sort of fruity and medium mild. Balance and texture are superb! 70-75 days
  • White Oxheart Tomato


    White Oxheart Tomato

    One of the whitest tomatoes that we have grown, it lives up to the oxheart family name. White Oxheart tomato is a 6 to 10 ounce fruit that is milder, sweet and delicious. It's a great candidate for tomato sandwiches and a sweet white tomato sauce. Skinny vines produce a good amount of fruits, but need to be staked early. Vines have also demonstrated good disease resistance for us. You can expect fruits all the way until frosts. These sell very well for me at the Farmers' Market too.   • Angelina's Heart is so good that it should be a lock for any serious tomato grower. We grew it in 2015, 16, and 17, and each time, it was one of the first tomatoes to ripen in the garden. It even ripened fruits more quickly than some cherry varieties. The two biggest qualities that I like about this fruit are that they are prolific, and of course, very tasty. Fruits are between 6 and 12 ounces. True to the oxheart family, vines are tall and have wispy leaves. Their skinny bases makes it imperative that they are staked early. They are just waiting for the first rain to topple over. Meaty, sweet, and smooth is how I would describe Angelina's Heart. It will give you a full flavored experience that is hard to forget. This is another oxheart winner.
  • If beauty, taste and production is what you love in your tomatoes, then Desdemona's Heart tomato might satisfy tour desires. Similar to Orange Russian 117, this oxheart variety is certainly worth growing. vines produce plenty 4-10 ounce beefsteaks that are mostly yellow inside, with some pink/red marbling. Fruits are sweet, meaty, have great texture and some underlying fruitiness. You can expect your first ripened tomatoes around the 80 day mark. Proper staking can certainly help. Perfect variety for sandwiches, sauces, market sales, fresh eating, cooking and garnishing. Truthfully, you can do anything with Desdemona's Heart! Vines have shown good disease resistance in our gardens.

    When it comes to taste, Eugenia tomato was at the top of the list of newbies that we grew in 2017. I am so excited to have these that I wanna shout! Huge, meaty oxhearts that can reach 1.5 pounds, grow on bushy, wispy leaf plants. A product of Ruslan Doohov of Poland, Eugenia is one of the best tomatoes that I have experienced. It's very balanced and fruity, packs a lot of meat with very smooth flesh. When to comes to aroma, nothing beats it! these even taste great at first blush! Please do with this tomato whatever you wish! FANTASTIC!!
  • Taiga Tomato


    Taiga Tomato

    Karen Olivier has done it again! Her Taiga tomato made big waves in our garden in 2020. I just can't believe how beautiful and tasty these are! 6-12 ounce oxhearts are produced on tall potato leafed plants that start ripening around mid season(75-80 days). Give them a chance to ripen well, then cut and taste. You will find that these are a little fruity, juicy, have lots of nicely textured meat and are delicious! Deceptively weighty, there aren't too many seeds in this gem. Plants are very hardy and are recommended for northern gardens too! Awesome selection for slicing, sandwiches, garnish, cooking or just eating right of the vine.
  • Mayo's Delight Tomato

    80-85 Days. Mayo's Delight tomato really impressed me in 2017. It has certainly made it's way in my regular grow list. This multi-purpose red oxheart is very impressive. Weighty fruits average about one pound, but can be larger. I especially love its rich sweet taste, and intense flavorful juice. Makes great pasta sauce. Serves well as a sandwich tomato too! Vines have good disease resistance and will produce until frost. This is a really, really good tomato! Try it! right off the vine.
  • Brad's Black Heart tomato is another one that surprised me in 2017. Wispy, 5-6 foot vins produce a surprising amount darkened colored, blunt oxhearts, that could reach 1 pound. My first taste test with these was very pleasing. I found that they were full flavored, with nice balance of juice, sugars and tang. There was also something else that I am yet to place my finger on. It was all good though! Our plants produced well into fall without any signs of diseases.
  • I planted these and did not pay them any attention until I saw the most beautiful, heart shaped fruits. Eager to know what they were, I quickly looked at to tags which read "Beauty Queen Heart tomato". This gem is definitely worth growing in any tomato garden. 6 ounce, red and yellow bi-color fruits, grow in clusters of 4 or 5 and keep coming all season long. Our vines grew about 6 feet tall in direct sunlight and produced plenty of fruits that will turn heads. Texture is very smooth and fruit-like. It's a great tomato for slicing in salads, garnishing, fresh eating, cooking and more. Very nice aroma too when well ripened!
  • One of my favorite Oxhearts, German Red Strawberry tomato is a winner. 8-12 ounce oxhearts are smooth, aromatic, meaty and juicy. Its balanced taste is amazing. Disease resistant vines can be very tall and are high producing. This oxheart is a perfect main crop variety. Get ready for plenty fruits about 85 days after transplant. Stake well! Vines are skinny!
  • Hungarian Heart Tomato


    Hungarian Heart Tomato

    Hungarian Heart tomato is a beautiful oxheart variety that does what oxhearts usually do. Sweet, meaty, juicy and delicious, this perfect heart tomato is a great selection for sweet sauces and cooking. Tall wispy vines produce heavy crops of 8-16 ounce smooth oxhearts that are a sight to behold. Vines have nice disease resistance, are hardy and love hotter weather. Fruits ripen about 85 days after transplant. A nice variety for beginners to try!
  • Cancelmo Family Heirloom

    Anyone who knows me would tell you that oxhearts are my favorite family of tomatoes. There are very few that I don't like. I have had Cancelmo Family Heirloom tomato seeds in my thoughts for years but I never grew them out until 2019. What I discovered is that these have totally lived up to the good reputation of pink oxhearts. Very flavorful, tasty and mild, these have excellent texture and plenty meat. They are not as large as some of the others, but they are not too small either. Ours averaged 10-14 ounces., some were around 8 and we did have a few that were about 1 pound.  Skinny vines are prolific producers and will produce until frost.  A very nice canning, sandwich, market tomato.  Dont forget to stake well. Try these, you'll love them.
  • Foxnose Tomato

    Foxnose tomato is a first time grow-out for us in 2018. We were very pleased who the results. True to the oxheart family, this variety produces very tasty, deep yellow oxhearts. They will keep you eating all season long. Many of our fruits are over 16 ounces but they averaged between 10-12. Vines are skinny and tall and loaded from bottom to top. This variety is very clean and crack-free, an advantage if you want to sell them. Foxnose tomatoes in your garden or on your tomato stand will turn heads. These are great for sandwiches, sauces, snacking and more. Tasty and memorable!
  • 85 Days. Heart Of Ashgabat is one of the prettiest yellow tomatoes that I have ever seen. Perfect heart shaped tomatoes that can reach one pound, will captivate you, even when green on their wispy leafed vines. True to the oxheart family, Heart Of Ashgabat tomato is meaty, on the sweet side and delicious. It's skin is thin and flesh very smooth! Check out our images and you will melt! Great for sandwiches, sauces, eating off the vine and tons more. You cannot go wrong with this one!
  • Anna Russian Tomato

    80 Days! Anna Russian tomato is 6-8 ounce oxheart variety that packs fantastic taste. Plants produce heavy crops of perfect heart shaped, pink fruits. Tomatoes are forward tasting, sweet, juicy and mildly fruity with a medium fir texture. Vines are skinny, tall and have wispy leaves. Stake well and early. One of my favorite oxhearts! Perfect for anything that you wanna do! But  this is also a very good market tomato that always keep customers returning to your booth.   • Mrs Schlaubaugh's Famous Strawberry

    If you want a meaty oxheart that will sit great on a tomato sandwich, yet make wonderful, rich sauce, then you should try Mrs Schlaburgh's Famous Strawberry tomato. With this variety what you see is what you get! And that is meat and more meat. This sweet, full-flavored oxheart will blow you away! Plants are taller and wispy, but very hardy. They produce a nice crop of uniformed oxhearts that can weigh up to one pound, but averages 8-12 ounces. Perfect size for a sandwiches, Mr's Schlaburgh's also works well as a slicing type, for cooking, canning and more. Great market variety. Try these if you haven't yet!
  • One of the first dwarfs that I ever grew in containers, I enjoyed growing and eating Coastal Pride Orange so much that I literally recommended them to everyone. A big attractor for me was the 3 to 4 ft vine, beautiful rugose leaf foliage, and very pretty deep orange ripened fruits. Vines are not excessively prolific but they aren't slouches either. They produce a good amount of fruits that ripen in about 80 days. In some ways, Costal Pride Orange reminds me of Dad's Sunset or even Amish Gold Slicer, just on a shorter vine.  Tomatoes are sweetish, meaty, medium-mild, and delicious. There is also a nice aroma to them when they are fully ripened. Containers or in-the-ground planting both work excellently. Some staking would be helpful.
  • Golden King Of Siberia tomato is a very tasty oxheart variety. They ripen to a really soft yellow about 80 days after transplant. Plants have the signature wispy leaves and are really good with diseases. Tomatoes are about 6-16 ounces. Sweeter and mild with lots of flesh, this is the perfect choice for those wanting a milder tomato. Great for sandwiches, slicing and salsas. It's attractive and does well at the market too!  Plants should be staked well and early. Great selection if you are a vendor because it's prolific and tasty. This is one that I would recommend for any tomato garden!
  • Marina Doohov Tomato

    Need yellow flavorful meat? Try Marina Doohov tomato. From the same breeder who gave us Blue Pear Eugenia and a few others, this tomato is visually appealing with super taste. This Ukrainian variety has it all! An oxheart, you will not be disappointed when you grow these out. In addition, it will turn heads in your garden. When sliced, Marina Doohov is almost all meat with very few cavities and seeds. We had to work hard to preserve seeds for offering. Well ripened, fruits have a fine aroma that reminds me cherries or peaches. A bit of that aroma carries over to its taste. make yourself a great sandwich and some nice yellow sauce with these!  I recommend this tomato. 75 Days.
