Another wonderful variety, Dixie Golden Giant tomato is winner any way you look at it! First grown here in 2014, we have grown them every year since. Six foot tall vigorous vines are high producing and and relentless. Tomatoes are 10 to 20 ounces and have "do anything with me" written all over their faces! Really good beefsteaks are perfect sandwich makers. Make some really good yellow stewed tomatoes too. I have made some fantastic dried tomato powder with these. Excellent stuff! -
Dixiewine Tomato
A really good tomato is how I would describe Dixiwine tomato. This gem has perfect texture and great old fashioned taste and balance! Short plants produce well for such large fruits, which can approach one pound. Honestly one of the better sandwich tomatoes I had in 2020. These are a bit later. Ours started to ripen about 85 days after transplant but the wait was well worth it. Fruits ripen deep red and have a really nice aroma. Try Dixiwine in your next garden! -
Domingo Tomato
Domingo tomato is a fat, unapologetic beefsteak with fantastic taste. Fruits can reach 2.5 pounds but average 1.5. Sweeter, meaty, old fashioned taste will suck you in and keep you wanting more. Perfect for sandwiches and so much more. Production is good for such a large variety, but not prolific. Pink fruits begin to ripen about 85 days after transplant. Our plants had good resistance to early and late blight. These will benefit from early staking and deep watering every once in a while. Great looking, crack free fruits! You will need to find your slice of bread under these. They are huge! A keeper for me! -
Donskoi tomato is a very large beefsteak that could create your record breaking fruits. Our largest were well over two pounds and smallest about 1.5 pounds. But we did not grow it for size only. It was recommend to us because of its taste. I did like it a lot! Donskoi is meaty, balanced, flavorful and surprisingly good for its large size. I never got around to making sandwiches with these, but there is no doubt they will shine in this application. Dwarf Awesome tomato is now one of my favorite dwarf varieties. 3 feet tall plants have rugose leaves and bear 6-16 ounce fruits that are as flavorful as you will ever get them. Fruits are sweet, fruity, rich, smooth and delicious. Plants are hardy too. Ours never showed any signs of diseases, even in a difficult year. What's more, plants went on to produce until frosts. This is a great tomato for just snacking straight from the garden, sandwiches, garnishing and more. They should do well in containers also, because plants are compact and hardy. Try some, you'll love them! -
I've grown some pretty dwarf varieties in my time, but dwarf Egypt Yellow tomato is among the prettiest. It's not fancy colored, just a very clean canary yellow, that will melt your heart. After your heart has been melted, your tastebuds will follow! This tomato is as delicious as it's pretty. Dwarf Egypt Yellow has superb texture and good balance. Milder and sweet with a hint of fruit is how I would describe it! Plants are "Tree like". Ours were about 3 feet tall in full sunlight and produced very well. Fruits were consistently around 12 ounces and were available until late in the season. Perfect for sandwiches, sauces, slicing, fresh eating, garnishing and more. Recommended! -
Dwarf Parfait Tomato
I love growing dwarf tomatoes because they always surprise me. After growing them for quit a few years, I still cant get over how much they can produce produce and how large some of the tomatoes can be. Dwarf Parfait tomato, is a beautiful and larger variety that, when ripened, is green on the outside and yellow on the inside. This combination makes for an interesting contrast that will turn any head! Three feet tall plants, produce 6-12 ounce fruits that have a deep, rich taste. Texture is superb and aroma is very inviting. Our plants displayed excellent disease resistance, making these even more attractive to me. Parfait is a later variety but your wait wouldn't be in vain. Perfect for sandwiches, slicing, garnish and more! Dwarf varieties are perfect for smaller gardens! Recommended! -
Although it's great for any tomato garden, Dwarf Sweet Adelaide tomato is a good choice for the first-time grower to try. It's productive, has good sized fruits, beautiful, relative early and tasty! Because of it's consistency, this is also a very good selection for container growing too. "Tree Like" plants are about 3 feet tall with rugose leaves. They begin to hold fruits not long after being transplanted. Its sweetish flesh is soft and well textured. Not overwhelming, this can be a great choice for those not wanting a strong flavored but great tasting fruit. Good disease resistance and vibrant, bushy, dwarf plants! -
Dynne tomato is a deep yellow beefsteak that can easily be a main crop. Sweet meaty and delicious, it is a perfect sandwich tomato. Prolific vines produce all season long and have great disease resistance. fruits begin to ripen about 85 days after transplant. Elgin Pink is a very, very good tomato. Seriously one of the best for us in 2021. In doing some research for this variety, I discovered that there are two leaf types, regular and potato. Our version is Potato leafed and produced large crops of some of the best tasting beefsteaks that were consistently about 14-16 ounces. Plants were very hard working and vigorous. These came on a bit late but were totally worth waiting for. I would definitely recommend these as a main crop for market, as I already know you will have big production and lots of return customers. Stake well and be ready for some really outstanding tomatoes that would make kick-butt sandwiches. Try these! -
Epstein's Big Zac Tomato
If you are looking for a great tasting beefsteak that will always grow large, Epstein's Big Zac tomato will work for you. Huge pink fruits can reach 3 pounds and grow on potato leaf vines. Plants, though not prolific, produce plenty. I really like its disease resistance. These held up really well even in a tough growing season. Big Zac is fun flavored, tasty and reminds me of Cleota Pink. This is a superb choice for growers wanting a tasty beefsteak, especially for sandwiches. This variety will benefit from early staking. These make thick, meaty slices. I love them! -
Eugenia Tomato
When it comes to taste, Eugenia tomato was at the top of the list of newbies that we grew in 2017. I am so excited to have these that I wanna shout! Huge, meaty oxhearts that can reach 1.5 pounds, grow on bushy, wispy leaf plants. A product of Ruslan Doohov of Poland, Eugenia is one of the best tomatoes that I have experienced. It's very balanced and fruity, packs a lot of meat with very smooth flesh. When to comes to aroma, nothing beats it! these even taste great at first blush! Please do with this tomato whatever you wish! FANTASTIC!! -
Absolutely one of my favorite tomatoes that was grown in 2021. Very productive and disease resistant vines produce about one pound beefsteaks all summer long. This variety is hard working and will be worth its keep in your garden. Fruits are deep pink when ripened have a full flavor with the old times feel. Welcome to Fishlake Oxheart tomato. it is one of the most delicious tomatoes that you may ever experience. This 6-10 ounce fruit ripens to a pale pink exterior, but have really deep pink interior that is full of meat and bursting with flavor. It has nice balance too. If taste is what you are after you should try this one. Vines are wispy leaved and produce plenty fruits that begin to ripen about 74-80 days after transplant. Flander's Contrast tomato is very unique in its looks. The green version of Blue Pear, this beauty is certainly a head-turner. Pear shaped fruits with antho tops, display varying levels of darkness. They begin to ripen about 72 days after transplant. Vines are about 6 feet tall and never stop producing until frosts. Fruits are mildly sweet, juicy and have a really good texture. Staking is essential because plants are relatively skinny.This is certainly a fine tomato for fresh salsa, garnishing, dehydrating, tomato juice and tons more. Try eating some straight off of the vine, very pleasing! Definitely worth growing! -
Flathead Monster Pink Tomato
I was surprised with the taste of Flathead Monster Pink tomato. Although I was expecting fruits above 2 pounds, most of mine were between 1-1.5. I was really happy that we decided to try this variety. Full flavored fruits begin to ripen about 85 days after transplant. This is a very, very good tomato. Regular leafed vines produce well, though not prolific. My three plants each produced between 10 and 14 fruits, with the later fruits being a bit smaller. I will definitely be growing these again. -
Flathead Monster Tomato
90 Days. A huge, outstanding, yellow beefsteak, Flathead Monster tomato is a sight to behold. Sturdy, tall vines produce a nice amount of 1-2 pound, meaty beefsteaks that are sandwich ready. This monster has thick, sweet meat that works excellently on a BLT. Vines have good disease resistance and need to be staked well with regular revisions. Hide your sandwich bread with these! -
Fleur de Regair tomato is another one that I absolute love. Without a doubt, this flattened tomato will perform well for making sandwiches an also in sweet dark spaghetti sauce. Big, dark red, deceptive tomatoes can reach 1.5 pounds and are grown on tall thick vines. These seemed to like hotter weather, which is surprising for a French variety. Fleur de Regair is very rich, sweet and very meaty. Vines have good resistance. Great for market vendors! -
Foxnose tomato is a first time grow-out for us in 2018. We were very pleased who the results. True to the oxheart family, this variety produces very tasty, deep yellow oxhearts. They will keep you eating all season long. Many of our fruits are over 16 ounces but they averaged between 10-12. Vines are skinny and tall and loaded from bottom to top. This variety is very clean and crack-free, an advantage if you want to sell them. Foxnose tomatoes in your garden or on your tomato stand will turn heads. These are great for sandwiches, sauces, snacking and more. Tasty and memorable! -
Fred L Potato Top Tomato is a very good tomato. Tall potato leafed plants produce 1-1.5 pound and more beefsteaks with outstanding rich flavor. Original seeds were saved by Fred Limbaugh of from Robinson, P, his father and grandfather. These have some sweetness but with good balanced. Fred L reminds me, in some ways, of Pink Brandywine as far as taste. It's not quite as consistently large and texture certainly different. Our plants were hardy and demonstrated very good disease resistance. A great market crop, sandwich ready and very tasty. I really love this one! 80 Days. -
85 Days. I remember the very first time that I grew Theas and where in the garden they were. that's because George Detsikas tomato is a memorable one. Other than great its taste, I always remember how aromatic this fruit was. I have grown these about five times in the last ten years and nothing has changed. They are so flavorful, rich and delicious that they easily make my "best sandwich tomato" list. Tall thick vines are disease resistant. -
I love this tomato so much. It has so much character and beauty. I really love its taste too. Georgia Streak tomato is a large bi-colored fruit of yellow and reds. It is sweeter and fruity, very complete in its taste and to me, desirable. Very good texture and slices like a dream. Plants are regular leafed and produce plenty of fruits or their large size. These begin to ripen about 80 days after transplant. Stake well because they can put some pressure on plants because of their size and production. Plants seemed to relish the hotter months, when their fruits really tasted excellent. A great choice if you love sweeter tomatoes!! -
German Giant Tomato
German Giant tomato is a smooth fruit inside and out. It grows on bushy vines that can reach 6 feet tall. Vines produce plenty of (sixteen to twenty four) ounce tomatoes that are perfect for sandwiches. Fruits have great balance and are delicious. They begin to ripen about 85 days after transplant. I first grew German Head tomato in 2008. Since then I have always wanted to grow it again. So I puled out my 2008 saved seeds and grew out a few. They again produced some of the meatiest tomatoes that you will find. old fashioned is how I would describe German Head. flavorful, balanced, lots of meat and even amounts of juice. This is a very safe tomato to grow if you want certainty. It will not disappoint. Vines produce big beefsteaks that can easily surpass one pound. Perfect sandwich tomato. Great for market sales, slicing and tons more. Recommended! -
German Johnson Tomato
German Johnson is a big tomato that can border on huge! Smooth pink tomatoes are full flavored, balanced and delicious. Vines are tall and sprawling. They begin to ripen their fruits about 90 days after transplant. Almost all meat, German Johnson may eliminate the need for chicken on your sandwich. These are great market tomatoes too. German Queen Tomato
85 Days. German Queen is a potato leaf variety that serves well as a sandwich tomato. It has an excellent and balanced flavor that can also serve as an all purpose variety. Fruits are about 8-12 ounces and smooth. Disease resistant vines are five to six feet, hardy and produce heavily! Will work well for drying, sauces and salsas too! Ours have ripened as early as early as 8o days, but more consistently 85 days from transplant in the grow-out spot. Fruits grow in clusters of three or four and ripens to a delicious mild pink. Certainly worth trying!! -
