Kansas Depression Tomato

Kansas Depression  Tomato is another rare variety that we are so blessed to have grown in 2017. Our seeds were sent to us by Terry of Secret Sed Cartel. We protected and watched these all season long as they matured, set blooms and then fruits. What a pleasure!

Vine Information

Kansas Depression vines are 6-7 feet tall by the end of the season. They produce beautiful, pink tomatoes that can reach 2 pounds. Vines  performed very well for us, even during the hottest months. Surprisingly, they began to ripen rather early, coming in at 75 days. For such a big tomato I thought that was a bonus. We sprayed our vines with copper sulfate before any signs of diseases and again after they set fruit. Consequently, we had no signs diseases with this variety.

Taste Test

This is a sweet and meaty tomato. It reminds me of Cleota Pink but fruits are not as large as…  It also reminds me of Dester, which is an excellent tomato by anybody’s standards. Perfect sandwich mater! Slice some up with some mayo, basil, good bread and cheese, a lil olive oil, salt and pepper. DYNOMITE!

PS. Check out Terry’s Website @ Secret Seed Cartel.com . Thanks Terry!
