Cossack Pineapple Ground Cherry

Cossack Pineapple Ground Cherry

Cossack Pineapple Ground Cherries are the tastiest little garden snack that you will ever find.  They are the perfect little pick-me-ups and are great for making deserts, pies, jams and jellies.  Plants grow to about 16 inches in height and produce half inch round fruits that turn yellow when fully ripened.

This Ground Cherry is a member of the tomato and tomatillo family.  They have a husk covering over their little cherries.  When well ripened, the husk also turns brownish to yellow and then they taste like a combination of tropical fruits, including pineapples.  They are sweet, tangy and very fruity and flavorful. Cossack Pineapple Ground Cherries have tiny seeds that are hardly noticeable when you are eating them. Plant a lot of vines so you will have enough for snacking and also for making all of the great treats that you can imagine!  If you have never grown these, you must!  I promise that you will absolutely love them! (Honestly, they are addicting!)
