Chyornyi Tarasenko Tomato

Chyornyi Tarasenko Tomato

If you are looking for a really outstanding black tomato, here is one that you should consider.  This year we grew about 15 new black varieties.  Chyornyi Tarasenko tomato was on the top of my list as one of the best.  Very unique, Chyornyi Tarasenko cannot  be confused with any other black tomato.  To me it’s that special!

Chyornyi Tarasenko Tomato Plants

One of my favorite vines all summer long, this unique tomato stood out, with some others, as cream of the crop.  Plants are big, regular leaf, intermediate and laden from top to bottom with some of the most beautiful chocolate mahogany colored fruits that you have ever seen.  Fruits can weigh between 6-16 ounces. Vines can grow to 6 feet and about 4 feet wide and stand up very well to disease.

Chyornyi Tarasenko Tomato Taste

Sweet, juicy, earthy, soft and delicious, is how I would describe Chyornyi Tarasenko tomato.  This tomato has a lot of good and juicy meat!  When well ripened, it is simply superb.  When close to full ripeness it is really good too, especially in salsa.  Slice one down the middle and you will see the most beautiful purples and greens with some white marbling.  Then taste it.  Wow!!  Is this really a tomato? Make some of the best dark tomato sauce, put it on a sandwich or in salsa, cook some up in your dishes or just take a huge bite right off of the vine.  You will enjoy this beauty any way you use it!
