Big Orange Stripe Tomato

Big Orange Striped Tomato Picture

Big Orange Stripe Tomato

A ripened Big Orange Stripe Tomato is the prettiest thing that I have ever laid my eyes on. A quick glance would not reveal that, but upon a closer look it becomes quite clear that this tomato is a head turner. My main purpose for growing tomatoes is for taste and that’s where Big Orange Stripe really shines.

About Vines

Big Orange Stripe vines are around 6.5 feet tall, indeterminate and bear plenty large size tomatoes ranging from 1-2 pounds. Fruits are in clusters of 2-4.  Most of my tomatoes were in the 1.5 pound range, plenty were bigger. Vines were never touched by diseases and produced till frost. Staking is absolutely necessary.

About Taste

Big Orange Stripe is a really nice tomato. Its taste is true to the large beefsteak bi-color family. Sweet, meaty, juicy and mildly fruity is the best description. Overall it has a very balanced and satisfying taste. My perfect description would be the best of two worlds between a yellow and red tomatoes.
